I'm glad the Lakers were able to stay close on a road game after not only a back to back but an emotional, moving win. The calls in the end did change the momentum, but the turnovers and lack of offensive fluidity towards the end hurt us more.

We keep saying a common pattern during close games: We miss shots or turn the ball over. That's where Kobe comes in. He's the closer. For the Lakers to stay close to the Spurs and Pelicans (a few other games that we luckily won) is a good sign.

I'm not sure what's wrong with Pau. I'd say he'll play better once Kobe is back (less pressure), but most of Gasol's shots are open midrange jumpers or isolation in the post. He just got owned by Davis tonight. Let's hope he bounces back.

The next 6/7 games are at home, so let's hope we can get above .500!

Like I keep saying, when vets like Pau don't step up its up to our young guys to save us, and then those young mistakes that young teams make come into play especially in games like this.

Pau has his chance to prove everyone that has bashed coaches for putting him in the wrong 'system' or the wrong ' spots' screaming 'post him up!! ugh this coach'.

He's had ONE good game this season against the Clippers, conveniently got 'sick' against the Warriors and has been garbage on the offensive end ever since.

But you can obviously tell D'antoni expects more out of Pau.

In Pau's defense, MDA's system isn't for him but you can't excuse shooting sub 40 from any position in the NBA

Pau is exercising his version of a no-trade clause...

If Pau brings this kind of effort against the Timberwolves Love and Pecovic are going to eviscerate him on both ends.

Kaman is the exact same type of player Pau is and this system is working just fine for him.  Pau has no excuse right now, he's getting the post ups, he's getting the shot attempts, he has the freedom to go wherever he wants the ball and ask for it.

He's not doing it, he's settling for jumpers or throwing up BS shots that have no chance at going in when he's in the post.

Either take himself out of the lineup until these "respiratory" issues go away, or suck it up and play on.

Because we aren't getting anywhere with him playing this garbage like.

Us being a winning team when Kobe comes back is contingent on pau at least being a 15/10 guy.. at LEAST.  He hasn't managed anything close to that as of late.

As of right now Jodie Meeks is on pace to pass him as the teams leading scorer.. JODIE MEEKS OFF THE BENCH is about to average more points than Pau Gasol STARTING and getting 12-15 shots per game....

if that doesn't say it all I don't know what will.

lol Idc what "System" pau needs to play in 11pts in the combined last two games when he's supposed to be the guy were playing through is ridiculous, hell half the time Anthony Davis was out there he was just crashing the offensive glass and rim running for easy baskets or face up jump shots, not exactly a designed "scheme" to get him in spots for him to succeed like someone on this team... [expletive] at least Steve Nash has an excuse
The guys like 40yrs old with a jacked up back and he's definitely not as limber and quick as he used to be but at least he still has his head in the game and not up his ass...

Expecting a monster game from Davis who is developing pretty good. Gaasol and Kaman can't do much as far as stopping him, maybe Hill would body him but MDA would never  leave him long enough to be effective.

My conclusion after watching this game is pretty simple: trade Pau ASAP

Arguably the greatest franchise ever

Or looked at another way...its a different laker team on back to back nights w nash sitting, new lineup etc. I'm still on the fence about the nash/blake back court and i'd even experiment with farmar starting that second game and bringing blake off bench. I'd like to see farmar and NY play together as it seems they really don't much.

Also, i don't care where our points come from as much as i like when the shots are open and the ball is moving.

We've still got some nice pieces that need to fit better. Whether that happens without some more experimenting (or another month of games) seems unlikely, but 3-4 after 7 is about where most of us thought they'd be. Right? 2 nice wins in there too.

I just hope nash doesn't have to rest back to backs the entire year, but farmar does look ready to play 30min imo.

Praying for 1. Kobe's Health, 2. High Draft Pick!, 3. Miracle Trade (Not yet), 4. Quality Free Agent (Boozer, kind of), 5. Brilliant Coaching Hire (Byron!)

This is what Pau's gonna' have to do next time we see AD. If a little 6'1 guy can do it, Pau's got no excuse.

yo.
