There's a big misconception that when the other guys (and Kobe) return that this team becomes good.
Will they be better than they are now? Of course, but that's not saying much. The players returning do not solve our problems.
The Lakers will continue to be a bad defensive team on the interior and will continue to be terrible in transition because of the pace in our system.
I've mentioned this already but next month is the best chance for the Lakers to make up ground. In March and April, we do not have very favorable schedules. Only 37 games left and Kobe won't be himself for another month after returning so you are looking at 20-25 games of Kobe at an elite level if all goes well and at that point, we hit a very rough end to our season.
That team still started 50 percent to season - without Kobe.
I don't see any misconception, at least from my part.
