We did both actually.  Played great defense on him and hacked him effectively down the stretch to keep Harden from getting a rhythm.

Oh cool so you're obviously not happy the Lakers won tonight then since we used the strategy and it clearly helped the Lakers win. Is that right? Some fan you are I guess.

Happy we won. But it is still a pathetic strategy. It isn't "real" basketball.....just man the [expletive] up and play some D.

Same here, happy we won but at the same time if you watched the game nothing about that style is sustainable.  7 straight 3's made?  Houston having a worse coach than ours and pretty much rode that ridiculous but smart for management Howard/Asik combo to the end.  If Houston had a real coach we would have been up outta there in the 3rd qtr.

In the end better coached teams are going to beat us more often than not.

Basketball is mental as well as physical. Hacking dwight is a tactical part of the game you have to maximise your strengths whilst taking advantage of your opponents weaknesses. Dwight sucks at free throws, you would be and idiot not to take advantage. All that matters at the end of the game is the final score, moral victories don't count.

... Excuse me!?

You mean to tell me that all the moral victories the Lakers gained last year was all for naught!?

If Lakers going to keep using

Steve Blake and Steve Nash as starting guard,

Lakers should put Wesley Johnson and Jordan hill.

Steve Blake sucks in Pick and roll defense,

Steve Nash sucks in man to man defense,

Pau Gasol is slow in pick and roll defense.

The only player that can play denfense in Lakers roster

I think it's Jordan Farmar, Wesley Johnson and Jordan Hill.

and maybe Chris Kaman.

Good call, except Kaman can't run back on defence, he's way too slow lol

Not a fan of Wesley at the 4. especially against elite teams. I personally don't feel we have a natural premier 4 on the entire roster. That rough tough 6'10" 245lb  20/10 per 39 minute guy. That Old Amare, David Lee, Al Jefferson type. I love Wesley at the 2 and 3. He needs to play 30 minutes a game to get a Rhythm

Well Wesley has been one of our best defenders and currently leads the team in blocks X_X   Only other 4 defender we have aside from Hill is Williams.

Exactly!! Hill is the closest we have to a real 4. But when Wes plays the 4 we get killed on the boards. Wes is amazing with weak side blocks and help defense. I wouldn't want him in the post with Boozer or David Lee though. I would like to see more ARIZA out of Wes regarding steals and perimeter defense. Overall he needs to play more

Wesley Johnson is being groomed into a Shawn Marion type player

Hill and Johnson are not getting killed on the boards, in fact, with that lineup, the lakers kill it on the offensive boards, they may not be classical rebounders, but they are batting the ball out to the guards, they will not work against the bigger lineups, but there aren't many teams with big 4-5 combos

Hill is a small ball center
Kaman is just a nice backup classic center who can shoot a bit
Gasol is a center who can play pf in a big lineup

Johnson doesnt really work at pf with kaman at all, and only is moderately effective with gasol...
But with hill in the small ball lineup? Amazing!

The fact, we don't have a true pf, who is just a pf, not a pf/sf tweener, or a pf/c big man...

Let's play to our strengths...

I think people got to realize this with Johnson

Minny drafted him to be Kobe of their triangle offense...

Now dantonie is making him into shawm Marion of his run and gun system

So in both cases they are overrating his abilities.

Without the refs Rox would have never got back into that gm. Harden was getting Wall St bailouts calls when no1 touched him.

BUt I agree Start Wesley & Hill.

Blake, Xavier, Wesley, Hill, & Pau should start

^ Ughh, still not happy with Nick Young starting. He did so well with his buddy Farmar off the bench. Shame. Can only hope if he keeps playing poorly, MDA will be forced to make the right decision.

yo.

I think that Young is gonna be starting with our bench unit as they start to shuffle in.

I think D'antoni is doing his best to not completely eviscerate the bench.  Because Hill gave the bench energy and the ability to run, we can STILL go small ball with the bench but it looks like he feels Kaman can make up for it with his offense on the 2nd unit.  So it's slower pace but Kaman will do his share of scoring.   Because if Young doesn't start it moves Wesley and Meeks to the starting lineup leaving only Xavier, Farmar, Young and Kaman with our bench.
