Alex Kennedy @AlexKennedyNBA 9h

Steve Nash is another vet who may be traded this year. I've heard Toronto as a possible landing spot for Nash from multiple league sources.

I hope so. Hopefully we would get a couple of draft picks in return.

Arguably the greatest franchise ever

That's not happening. Toronto may trade for Nash since he's Canadian and since they may try to bottom out at some point, if the fall in the standings, but they're not giving up Ross, Valanciunas or draft picks.

I think the best we can get with Toronto is Kyle Lowry.

Sounds like smoke to me.  I think Uriji is too good of a GM to do that.  If Calangelo was still there I wouldn't doubt it one bit.

You could be hoping that they would like fellow Canadian Steve Nash to be a part of the franchise going forward - player/coach or frontoffice role. That would be the only reason why they trade for Nash, other than to shed salary - but since we're not taking on salary I don't see that happening either.

Yea any deal with them is bad for both parties.  Lowry can be attained in the offseason since he'll be a FA, Rudy Gay is a no no for LA and not much else there the Raptors would give up for Nash

Not going to happen. He is 9 million dollars a year. Nash is better than the trash that would inevitably come back. There is no incentive for Toronto to give the Lakets anything of value.

Im sure Kyle Lowry would be a much better player than Nash would be right now.

Lowry is an expiring contract. Wouldn't that free up more cap?

Yeah Lowry would be better. Why would Toronto trade Lowry for Nash? Nash has a year after this at 9 million dollars. The other players on Toronto are not going to get cheaper. Having an old pg take up a lot of salary doesn't seem likely to occur.

I'm not sure they would, but if what Alex Kennedy say is true, which it probably isn't, then i suppose they'd take on Nash because he's canadian or perhaps because they eventually would want him associated with the team in a non-playing role. Who the hell knows.

Says they are open to trading anyone on the roster outside of Jonas V.

Not saying this Nash talk is legitimate but if a trade were to happen, expect Gasol to be involved since he is a large expiring contract.

This type of thing is another two months from happening. A trade will not happen until Kobe is back and playing for a good amount of games.
