Williams plays better defense than Pau and Kaman combined, he just isn't a reliable shooter.

Jordan Hill is the best rebounder on this team and earned the right to lead that small ball lineup.

What are you talking about?  Small ball is our BEST lineup!

GET WILLIAMS OUT OF THE LINEUP! Hill deserves most of his minutes.

Williams defense is good but not good enough to to play over Hill.

william is not a better defender then pau and even if he is by your opinion it isnt something to be prove of. williams get destroy in the post and cant stay in front of the players. small ball is only good when u have a elite sf playing the pf

It's better for Shawne to come off the bench and start Hill. Enough with this stretch 4 BS, D'Antoni.

I completely agree with this thread. This small-ball crap is getting ridiculous. Pau, Kaman and Hill combine for 55mpg and should be logging at least 70mpg.

Regarding Williams' defensive capabilities: Defense isn't just about being able to get a steal and a block – not that he’s been any good in that department - it’s about completing the plays, getting the defensive rebound, knowing your assignment,  putting size in the paint etc. and on that end he hasn’t been good. That would be ok-ish, if he could make up for it with shooting – but he hasn’t (.200 FG%, .167 3pt%).

Then there’s Steve Blake. That he leads the team in minutes is in itself beyond stupid. But getting minutes ahead of Farmar, who clearly has been better and also playing the 2 alongside Nash takes the stupidity to a whole new level. How is Steve Blake going to defend a guy like Korver or Klay Thompson, who’ll shoot right over him?

We need to remove Blake and Williams from the starting lineup and then we should either trade some of our bigs for a small-ball 4 who can actually contribute OR keep the smallball lineups for the second unit.

I don't like when Nash and Blake are out there at the same time, or Blake and Farmar. Why not put in a real shooting guard? Blake was on Korver pretty much all night and look what happened, he almost beat us. He missed like two shots lol, Blake can't a) keep up with him or b) contest his shot. Nick Young isn't a good defender but I'd rather see him on Korver. Or Xavier, or Wesley, or Jodie. And I would also like to see more lineups with a bigger front court. Some combination of Hill, Pau, and Kaman, two of them on the court at the same time more often. Less minutes for Williams, more minutes for Hill.

Not saying don't go small anymore, I just don't see the benefit of Nash and Blake on the court at the same time. That means one of them is always going up against a guy like Korver or Klay Thompson, which is a terrible matchup on both ends. Can't defend them, and every jumper for us is heavily contested.

So yeah, I don't want to abandon going small, just tweak it.

There are gonna be some games where Steve Blake will do well. But not much I don't think. Blake isn't cutting it starting or being a back up SG. Just sign Shannon, Mitch. He's stlil young, athletic, has speed and he's done well starting while Kobe was out with an injury a couple years ago.

Statistics are correct 100% of the time, but 99% of those that use statistics are full of [expletive].
