I'll stress to say you'd sooner to see this hometown point guard in a Lakers jersey

Before you ever see Westbrook in one...

That's how small of a chance I see that happening....

If we get Rondo in 2015 then we likely aren't getting Westbrook, but that depends on if the Celtics get Wiggins/Parker or not.

So let's think about the next 2 years before we start talking about the off-season of 2017

The more success I see from teams with point guard being their strongest position, the more I want a dominate, 40+ minute a game PG to dominate the western conference.

Imagine an strange child who's punching you and your expecting to beat that if you will get serious

However, the quick ball dominant point guard driven team hasn't won the ring.

Good regular seasons and fizzle in the playoffs because in the end rebounds and inside play in a slowed down game always wins.  I'd rather get a more defensive point guard eventually.

Very much so fido.

That's why Chris Paul needed a Kobe Bryant on his team and why the trade to the Lakers was so perfect.   Not happening now and Chris Paul shall be a ball dominant point guard once again with no one able to create their own shot(except Crawford) on the Clippers again.

If Westbrook was on the Lakers, we'd need another scorer on his level and I don't see that happening unless Kobe goes back to the fountain of youth and can play like he's 25 at the age of 38.  I don't put it past Kobe to find russian technology that allows him to be part cyborg by this point but still....

Westbrook and Love... may be fun to watch but won't lead to a championship.

You'd be better pressed going after Durant one year earlier.   Because the Rockets are gonna be trying to re-sign Dwight and save cap space for Harden the next year, when Durant is a free agent the Lakers should go after him(this is depending on who we get in the 2014, 2015, and 2016) off-seasons, which is a ways away.   I don't see Love not having a max contract somewhere by that point and I don't think the Lakers would be the team to give that to him, especially if them getting Melo in 2014 comes to fruition.

Love will command a max contract when he's a free agent.

I haven't seen a dominant PG - ??? combo since Stockton - Malone. And they were cockblocked by Jordan's Bulls.

No wonder elite PGs can't win anything.

Westbrook - Durant is the closest that fits to that definition. And they will have their time if they stick together.

Without Harden they aren't going anywhere but second round exits till either Westbrook or Durant has had enough.

I'd say Nash-Stoudemire was pretty good as well and I think CP3 and Blake Griffin could be good, if Griffin would improve.

But I would love to see K-Love and Westbrook in Laker uniforms.

Nash - Stoudemire was nowhere near dominant. What made that Suns team special was the presence of Marion.

And lol @ Griffin.

Not really.

They just need a better coach. And they will find one in George Karl when this season is over.

In 04-05 Nash was the league MVP and dropped 15ppg and 11.5 apg on .502% shooting. Stoudemire dropped 26 and 9 rpg on .55% shooting and they won 62 games. That is pretty dominant.

Marion had 19.4 ppg / 11.4 rpg  / 2.0 spg / 1.5 bpg

Joe Johnson had 17.1 ppg with 47.8 3P%.

They were great pieces of a system. It doesn't make the duo anything special. I'm not dissing the each individual here, mind you. Amar'e was fantastic so was Nash. I remember Amar'e dominating in WCF, he had like 35 ppg but it wasn't even close to beating the Spurs. Maybe they would have established that sort of dominance if Amar'e didn't get injured a year later.

Then who would you consider dominant, if those Suns team - and Amare and Nash in particular - weren't dominant?

I really don't like Westbrook, and the only real reason is because he feels the need to scream and pound when he dunks or does a slightly above average layup.

I like the modest kind of players who only talk BS once they actually proved something. Who I would really want to see in Purple and Gold is Paul George and Damian Lillard.

he is an energy player.it's  rare at the guard position, but his effort is insane

So we don't respect  Rose's prediction when he said the Lakers will miss the POs but we do like them when he says we'll get 2 top shelf players in their primes?
