Rankings by media types are irrelevant.  I am concerned if he will return to the same physical level of play as last year.

he was arguably #2, he was almost as efficient as Durant, was just as important to his team, and he was more clutch + avg 6 assists..

but theyre ranking him for this upcoming season, injured.. Kobe minus a couple steps, #25 is fair.

Kobe and Randle led Lakers lead the team to a 32-50 record. the Lakers select Myles Turner with the 5th pick.

Based off speculation of his injury but even then, that's a steep drop from #6 which he was ranked in 2012.

Drop out of the top 10, I understand. Drop out of the top 20? Little ridiculous.

Maybe out of top 10 after injury, but there's no way there's 20+ better players than Kobe in the league right now. No chance in hell.

Last year, I would have taken Kobe over any player not named LeBron.

This year, even though I haven't seen him play yet, I'm certain he's top 10.

It's beyond sad how much disrespect Kobe gets... Not even because I'm a Laker and Kobe fan but there are so many haters it's ridiculous. Guess that's what happens when someone that good doesn't play for your team lol

Kobe still TOP 3.

Reggie knows what's up.

Preseason player rankings don't really matter much though, and Kobe hasn't proven that he's going to come back from this injury as the same player, so if they want to rank him 25 whatever, I see the reasoning. Don't agree with it, but I get it.

Reading those comments disgust me. These people are seriously paid to put this out?

Can't wait for Kobe to come back with a had taste in his mouth.

I guess if the only basis will be his games missed and the actual degree of his injury won't be known till he gets on the court.

Personally fanhood aside this seems double standard, plenty of players in the past have been injured and rankings hardly matter in that aspect, this is more of a sleight in my opinion. Basically stating he's older, injury and a bad team. Funny thing is get rankings from top players in the NBA and Kobe would be top 5. ESPN has always been antagonistic towards Kobe in recent years.

But judging online, most people and even the doubters think 25 is obscenely low.

Easily 3rd best player in the league last year. You can't say he's 25th now...
