Blake is fine but expendable. His contract is relatively hefty and could be a key expiring.
Lets say Blake and Meeks and Hill and Kelly and Sacre for Taj Gibson.

Blake should go if he is going to play the two. He is too short and unathletic to guard SGs. We are terrible defensively when he is playing the 2 and Nash the PG. We already have to decent PGs in Nash and Farmar, why do we want to keep a third-string PG? Blake is actually a good player but I'd rather have Farmar because of his athleticism and improved defense.

Arguably the greatest franchise ever

Except the Bulls wouldn't make this trade.  They see Taj as a big part of their future post Boozer and why would they take on Blake?  Blake is good for LA at this point b/c he's the best backup PG and is an expiring contract.  If we think he sucks why would any other team give us any real value for him? Not to mention taking on a player that eats into the 2014 cap room.

Hill alone averages just about the same numbers as Taj does and Taj averages more minutes. I say look back at the Timberwolves. They need a SF due to Chase B. Going down

Taj is way better than Hill in pick and roll and rim protection.

A player like Taj or Larry Sanders or at the worst Emeka would shore up what I see as our biggest weakness.

Every team especially a team in the hunt isn't looking for cap space.  The only way the Bulls are unloading anyone for room is that the other team is taking back Boozer and Lakers aren't doing that either

Maybe Boozer and Rose with Butler and Noah and Deng need more shooting, so u give them Blake and Meeks and Hill and Kelly and they feel like they lost a player they liked to feel a void.

This is predicated on losing Heinrich again.

Taj is a better defensive player and shot blocker than Hill but I wouldnt give Hill and a bunch of expirings to take on his huge contract.  Hill at 3.5M > Taj at 8M

They have Teague, you don't trade away a player that can start on your team during a championship run to get Hill and Blake on your team b/c you need shooting and if Meeks looks garbage here he will be garbage there.  Butler is a pretty good shooter himself, as good as Meeks anyway.  The trade is asinine man.  Taj will be their starter once they figure out what to do with Boozer.

To me what Taj brings to the table is worth 8, and I don't think the Bulls make a move unless they start much slower than expected.

I think Booz has earned more respect in Chicago over the past year and a half with his toughness and his offense seemed to steady as well.

Chicago's defensive reputation hasn't been hurt by Booz

Im sure he does bring the 8M worth but not in the transition that the Lakers are in.  You can't have capspace and waste it on role players.  That 8M is more valuable here to collect guys like Henry and Johnson to see who sticks.  Lakers need a direction changer not a glue guy.

Taj would fit any style team though.

One player isn't going to ruin cap space.

Yes it can when you are not certain to what awaits in the offseason.  If Lakers want to nail a max player they need 23M, then you have to deal with the Kobe and Pau wanting good deals for themselves.  It would be stupid to tie up 8M into Gibson when essentially there is no team in place in 2014.  The roster isn't even set.  Not to mention the Bulls aren't trading Gibson for expirings so to entertain the idea is kind of a moot point.

Trade Meeks for who?? Where is the value??

Blake showed last year that he can play - Once he gets into his groove, he will be good for us. Meeks is the guy who should be traded. The only thing he's supposed to be good at, he can't even do.

Who say you need 23 million?

We can't trade back to back draft picks with the new CBA.  Lakers have to draft this year.

Luke was traded with a 1st round draft pick as well.  That luxury isn't there.
