With the acquisition of Italian forward, Andrea Bargnani, money is currently running thin with the New York Knicks.

In my opinion, I think the New York Knicks should be desperately trying to shop Tyson Chandler. He's on the decline of his career and he has a serious payroll.

If I were the Knicks, I would talk with the Lakers, maybe in the off-season when we resign Kobe and Pau for less money, and offer them Tyson Chandler. By doing so, they conserve cap space and they eliminate the front-runner for the New York Knicks in Los Angeles.

A line-up consisting of the following players would be my realistic dream:

Ramon Sessions (Off-Season Acquisition)
Kobe Bryant (Resign)
Luol Deng (Under the condition that Chicago doesn't trade him mid-season or resign him (highly unlikely))
Pau Gasol (Resign)
Tyson Chandler (Off-season Trade)

Jordan Hill could be a trading chip for the Lakers in acquiring Tyson Chandler.

As you said, decline of his career and serious payroll. No thanks.

The Knicks aren't moving Chandler.  If anything acquiring Barg and playing Melo at the 4 for stints is more of an incentive to keep Chandler.  Also who exactly are we giving up for him? The Knicks aren't trading him for pennies.

I remember him specifically saying how much he hated the Lakers growing up in SoCal

Kaman+Hill+Farmar for Tyson Chandler.

All expiring contracts and we could even get a third team involved.

LMFAO, the Knicks have spent the money to make a championship run and want to keep Melo.  Why on earth would they trade for 3 scrubs just to get cap relief?  The Knicks don't have the most competent FO but they aren't idiots.  They aren't going to trade their 2nd best player for scrubs on expirings when another team would easily give up good talent for Tyson.  Not to mention they would be handing Melo over on a silver platter to any team with cap room next year.

Kaman+Hill+Farmar for Tyson Chandler.

I doubt that's happening. Chandler is their defensive anchor and you really don't want to play a frontcourt of Andrea Bargnani and Amare Stoudemire.

I'll throw a stat at you: 8.7. That's combined rebounds per game of Stoudemire and Bargnani last season.

That being said, i'd love to have a guy like Chandler.
