so that guy who's delegating the debate - he left ESPN?

Kobe and Randle led Lakers lead the team to a 32-50 record. the Lakers select Myles Turner with the 5th pick.

Well if we don't have Kobe for 35 games yeah we'll prolly be a 10-25 team i agree but that's if Kobe misses that many games which I doubt.

You obviously haven't seen our schedule we could carry an over .500 record into the Christmas game even WITHOUT Kobe as long as everyone else remains healthy.

HAHA. Unbelievable how stupid some former professional basketball players can be. My guess is we will be the 4th or 5th seed. If not we will still for sure make the playoffs. A lot of people for some reason don't understand the fact that a Laker team with ZERO expectations led by KOBE BRYANT can and WILL perform much higher than those expectations. It's not often in Laker land that we have a team who is "supposed to suck." We'll take advantage of that. Can't wait to see BSPN change their stance on us after the first couple months of the season.

Hahahahahaha...So we'll be ahead of SAS, LAC, GS, MEM, OKC or HOU? That's wishful thinking at best.

Is there even a thread predicting the Western Conference ranking cause I am curious as to where peoples' opinions are regarding the bottom four seeds.

Yep, he's not allowed to have an opinion either.  To hell with how he feels he's just a hater and mad he didnt win a ring in LA.

Gary Payton is stupid?

Right, but it's not even about that. Sure we can have a civil discourse about whether he's right or wrong, but to disregard a hall of famer who was essential to the Super Sonic's success back in the days and call him an idiot is...idiotic.

The more i listen to other people's predictions (along with mine) the more i appreciate actual analysis after the fact than predictions before it.

Injuries always happen, other crap we might not be aware of.

I mean, predictions are almost astrology imo. Can't remember if i ever thought "Oh..that guy is really good at predictions i wonder what he thinks"?

Its all just filler time

Praying for 1. Kobe's Health, 2. High Draft Pick (Randle!) 3. Miracle Trade (Not yet), 4. Quality Free Agent (Boozer, kind of), 5. Brilliant Coaching Hire (Byron!...but the jury is out)

Can't these old players shut the hell up?

Speaking of analyses, I enjoy listening to Worthy. He always makes good points. I believe he has what it takes to become a good coach, wonder why he doesn't try.

Another thing people need to consider is that most people outside of fans don't expect Kobe back before the first month or so.  If any other team's best player was out for any significant amount of time and their next best player is trying to get his swag back then no one would disagree with them.  If Melo goes down every NBA fan says the Knicks they don't make the playoffs.  Look at what happened to Dallas when Dirk was out.
