Interpol is great, listen to Slow Hands. Get the whole album, Antics, it's great.

And yes, they were greatly inspired by Joy Division.

Uhh I can't think of everything so I'll just post my favorites that come to mind.

Common (Common Sense)
Daft Punk
Nas
Jay-Z
Cradle
Fugees
John Mayer
CunninLynguists
Outkast
Switchfoot
etc...

I have a diverse taste, but I tend to lean towards hip-hop.

I always go through different music phases, from house to jazzy hip-hop (which I'm into right now). Do you guys go through a lot of phases when you prefer different genres?

yeah, I go through many phases.. i was in a hip hop phase for about 2 years, went through lots of 80s, 90s hip hop. it was lovely stuff, but i've changed a lot. phases expand your musical horizons, and thru them you discover lots that become deep personal favorites..

Dang, you don't listen to ANY rock AT ALL? Wow... :nah:
Why is that? Why doesn't it appeal to you at all?
I didn't see any of it on your list at all.

I used to listen to rock, but for some reason it just doesn't appeal to me anymore. I don't necessarily dislike it, I just prefer r&b and hip hop. I went from liking country in elementary school, to pop, rock, alternative, and now just r&b and hip hop. My preferences have just changed over the years.
