going to be used to experiment with Wes and Farmar.

Guys will play until they get tired.

Hopefully we see the Nash, Young, Johnson, Kaman, Gasol starting lineup this time around.

We must win this game, we are playing against the worst team in the NBA by a wide margin, so let's destroy those [expletive]ers!

Problem with having Wes there is he can't really space the floor. Meeks can't either. I actually wouldn't mind Williams or Xavier at the 3. If we tried Williams, that'd be quite a big 5, 4, & 3 & of course we know Williams can move pretty well & play some D as well as hit that outside 3 (probably more than Meeks).

I know its pre-season, but, is 2-4 record a true reflection of our team w/o Kobe? Or is it mostly due to preseason experimentation?

The latter.

First Denver game we couldn't hit a shot though and played our bench in the 2nd half.   The one loss against the Warriors had to do with Jackson getting desperate and playing his starters all of the 4th against our end of the bench after we dominated them again.

The next game they shot the lights out in the first half, and we still had a halftime lead while giving them a starting lineup of Nash, Blake, Young, Williams and Gasol...

Then in the 2nd half, Nash rested, and we pretty much tried different bench rotations even playing Wes at the 4 again getting them some minutes.

But at the same time we see areas we need to improve on.

If Kaman can't get over this stomach flu he has we may wind up having to go this pre-season game too without seeing what our starting lineup is intended to be, which would leave the 2nd game against the Jazz our last opportunity to have our actually working starting lineup which would be

Nash
Young
Johnson
Kaman
Gasol

Bright spot has been Xavier Henry  who thus far has gone

12 ppg on 42% from the field but 58% from the three point line.

I wouldn't expect him to maintain that during a season but coming off the bench that's NICE!

Shawne Williams is also shooting 42% from the three point line which is what he's here for.

So to me Williams and Henry SHOULD make the team.   Which means it would come down to Harris, Kelly and Landry to be the last spot or two.

Nash is a game time decision.

Rest Nash, play Farmar more mins like he should have.

It's chemistry with Farmar that needs building.  Nash is fine.

Mark Medina @MarkG_Medina

Mike D'Antoni said Chris Kaman is out tonight because of stomach issues. Steve Nash is a game-time decision because of "a neck thing"

Bill Oram@bill_oram
Also worth noting that the next thing D'Antoni said was, "He's fine."

To me "Neck thing" is translation for "Farmar needs more time with these units so I may rest Nash tonight."

Well eventually his excuses may be as good as Popovich's.  We can tell it's D'antoni's first time.   "Neck thing"?    It's creative though

Write that on the report.   :bounce:

Also

“I left it open a little bit where I can get a feel. If I feel like they’re exhausted, I’m not going to push them just to push them,” D’Antoni said. “They’re a little down. They were fatigued on Sunday and Monday.”

Adding more to my thoughts that he's gonna be testing stuff tonight while letting some recover from the trip.

Williams is good on the defensive end but he needs to be coming off the bench.
