“I don’t have a lot of bitterness other than I don’t understand. But not understanding — when you are working in a world of millions, millions, and millions of dollars, there’s a lot of things I don’t understand.

“There’s a lot of contracts we give players that I don’t understand. There’s a lot of trades that I don’t understand. There are a lot of decisions I don’t understand.

Yea I doubt the nuggets do what they did last year. That really wasn't a great team he had but he made them pretty damn good. 0 stars and if not for injuries they could have made a huge run in the playoffs.

Gotta give Karl props, comeback from cancer that almost killed him, messes up his voice (somewhat important as a coach to have one of these), and wins coach of the year like 3 years later.  Pretty impressive.

I remember reading a rick reily piece on the cancer struggle. Great writing

Praying for 1. Kobe's Health (looks pretty good so far), 2. High Draft Pick (Randle...injured game #1.*sigh*) 3. Miracle Trade (Not yet), 4. Quality Free Agent (Boozer, kind of, Davis, nice upside!), 5. Brilliant Coaching Hire (Byron!...but the jury is out)

I know there's a team in L.A. that would thrive with him as the coach.

It was the dumbest coach firing in the NBA in quite some time.

What's even more confusing is how is he out a of a job right now? also Lionel Hollins like you said.

What do you think about Lionel Hollins as well?

Hollins would be alright.  Frankly I think most coaches with experience would bean upgrade over D"Antoni.

However, Karl brings the authority with him , the provenance that would make veteran and young players listen to what he has to say.  Not saying Hollins wouldn't, but something tells me that Kobe would love playing under Karl.
