Xavier stood out again. We'd win this with a full squad easy

Mike D'Antoni is GARBAGE.

I'd experiment. Let them battle it out & play one on one & whoever wins takes the spot.

I would agree.  I think Landry is better right now.

He has the size and he pretty much does what Meeks does but he has the size to rebound and does TRY to defend.

Blake / Farmar
Landry
Henry
Williams
Kaman

That's a fine backup bench with me till Kobe comes back.

I've always liked Steve Blake.

Landry isn't undersized like Meeks, lol.

So yeah.

Trade for Austin Rivers, say, Hill & Johnson.

When you can prove to me that there are athletic players who give full effort on defense and are still bad defenders this argument can continue

Until then you're wrong

lmao until then im wrong?? that bias you think?

Hell you cant prove that they dont give full effort so wtf?? They dont have to give full effort anyway.

This is the NBA. Giving full effort on defense is impossible unless that is your style/role in the NBA because you have to play offense too. Now that doesnt mean you dont work hard on defense which they all do. They wouldnt be in the NBA if they didnt work hard at every aspect of their game. Of course you can improve a little by knowing more and giving more effort but just not to the point you become an elite defender.

I'm done. You can believe anything you want just dont tell me im wrong because I know I'm not. You haven't proved [expletive] to me neither so wtf

What Landry showed tonight was an incredible display of what the human spirit combined with mental toughness can overcome. I am proud of him.

and by the way

Steve Nash went to the locker room after being subbed out in the 3rd presumably to stretch. Word is he's fine.

yeah but he did look good out there aside from just being rusty on some shots, and getting his legs underneath him, Pau too.

The most important thing I look for is the opportunities.

The offense opened up opportunities for Pau both outside and inside and he got some looks he'd likely finish when he's in form.

Nash as well, but his passing as always was still on point his shot was just a little flat.

I'd take Landry over Meeks right now, he reminds me a bit of Garcia actually, hustler, works hard, sometimes his threes are WAAAAAAAAAAAY off but when he's on fire he's on fire.

The positive thing is that even when Landry is off he gives you intangibles elsewhere and can defend 2-3.

So that automatically gives you the advantage over Meeks.  Cause if Meeks is off you should pull him instantly.

lol D'antoni saying Landry was about another missed shot away from "therapy on a couch"  so he told him to keep shooting and eventually he started hitting his shots.

Glad D'antoni didn't give up on him.

Meeks on the other hand....

I've always liked Steve Blake.

Our defense forced 30+ turnovers and our defense was very good.

We did NOT shoot well this game, and it was still a 9 point game thanks to Xavier late.

But they pulled him later.

WILLIAMS is the starting 4 till Hill gets his legs back. No doubt in my mind.

He's a guard though. Pau on the other hand shooting 4-13 as a 7 foot center. Unacceptable.

Oh wow. I forgot to say also, Pau 4 rebounds in 23 minutes.

Robert Sacre, 8 rebounds in 13 minutes.

Small man Ty Lawson 10 rebounds in 26.

Pau didn't look like he had his legs.  Which is to be expected.

This is why Kaman is missed, he'd have gotten about 9 tonight, and Farmar would have been effective during spells when Meeks was in instead.

Cause if Wesley couldn't be in for Meeks we could have ran Farmar/Blake.

So missing Farmar and Kaman did hurt tonight.  But like I said, I wanted to see what we looked like even in a loss.   We missed a LOT of open shots but defensively we were solid...

Except *cough* Jodie! *cough*

They are looking like how I envisioned.  Looks like a team experimenting that will do ok but overall won't do well w/o an elite 100 percent healthy Kobe.

Good thing Windu didn't see this game though. He'd absolutely be destroying Pau right now no question.

Mike Trudell         @LakersReporter

Wait, Ty Lawson's back in? LAL had cut the lead to 7 on Landry's 3, but apparently Brian Shaw wants to win this one. 84-75 DEN, 4:30 to go.
