Mitch, a couple people on here when we signed him (refer to the thread), etc.

That was our expectations for him. He doesn't come close

People overrate Ariza too.

All people remember about him really is his game 5 against Orlando and his interceptions.    They overrate him overall and in general for the rest of his time with the Lakers.

The truth is he averaged 8 points a game on 46% shooting which is awesome, but he also shot 31% from the three.  A lot of the shots he got were spot ups or were when he cut to the basket.

Ariza was a very good defender as well, but not spectacular.

Ariza is a close goal for Johnson to reach honestly, and thus far he's shown he's a good passer he's a sneaky good rebounder and he likely has a better three point shot than Ariza did, he also takes more mid range jumpers than Ariza did as Ariza was either shooting threes or scoring off cuts.

But he's showing that he can play defense, just not against bigger 4s, against 3s he's been solid enough.    You don't really notice the good things he does do when he's out there.   In the warriors game, aside from his shot which was off till the 4th quarter, he had 2 steals, 2 blocks and 3 assists.  These are the small things he's required to do.   When he scores it will be fine, but him getting those rebounds, making the right passes and playing hard defense is going to be more important around his roll in the long run.    I'd just like to see him matchup with other 3s aside from guarding big 4s for the most of the time.   But thus far it's too early to say.

Wes has been looking great so far except for the first game (1-11). Steals, Blocks, decent 3pt shooting and only 1 TO. Let's hope he can keep up the good work.

Another good game from him. 16 pts, 4 rebs (3 of them off), and 2 blocks. He missed a few gimmes, but I'm not hating.

Been great lately. Far better than how he looked preseason & a little earlier on. You can tell he's gained a lot more confidence & comfort. He's so much more assertive now. I absolutely love his overall activity, hustle, & of course awesome athleticism.

yo.

yeah Wes has been hitting some clutch shots lately to for us as well, his three pointers always seem timely.

Needs to finish at the basket with more dunks stronger.

2 blocks and a steal today as well he currently leads our team in blocks.

He's been hustling, rebounding and defending well as of late and the 16 points didn't help.

But none was more important than his REACHING one handed rebound put back which I am still astounded by.

As well as his hustle to save what would have been a turnover late in the game.

When will we ever see the ideal line up of Nash, Young, Wesley, Gasol, and Kaman? Seems like it's the only combination I have yet to see on the floor.

Probably because Wesley and Xavier work so well on the bench together and Wes is perfect off the bench for us right now.
