The defense cheated at one point and he made them pay. I'm surprised that GS didn't respect him enough after scoring 29 on them the last time.

Yep, Xavier is that one guy another team wouldn't want to leave open off the extra pass or he can bust them from long range, but if they play him too close he can get to the basket and is strong.

So if we can refine all that and Kobe is able to work with him a bit he could be a very good piece for us.

Our perimeter is a very deep one defensively and potentially offensively just around the forward /guard combination.

Xavier, Williams, Johnson.   Those are good pieces to have defending your perimeter.

Xavier and Williams can also stretch the floor, Johnson some of the time.   I want Wes to be healthy though because he'll give more to the starting lineup than Meeks ever will defensively.

Southpaws are difficult to contain at times, this is why guys like Harden or Manu even justify their comparisons with Kobe

Henry said Kobe gave him some constructive criticism postgame, and @xhenry7 plans to go study film of those specifics tonight.

Being a lefty myself, I love love love watching someone who has real control over their left on a drive.

Xavier is getting there. He's a huge dude, and he's able to get right past defenders on a 1on1 situation. Earl Clark leaving doesn't hurt anymore, Xavier looks like he's gonna be better for the Lakers.

I'll actually go out on a limb and say he will average more than 15 a night, dude has shown he can effectively score.

I want to see what Pelican fans and Grizz fans saying about him.

here's what Pelican fans had to say when we first signed X

http://www.pelicansr...92-Xavier-Henry

He is a chubby, slow SG who can only go left and can't finish at the rim. He has trouble shooting FTs, and he is a jump shooter who can't hit an open shot consistently - especially the 3.

A player who has endless potential and will wow you in warm-ups, making literally every shot and throwing down reverse dunks, but is actually a quite lazy, astronomical bust.

Yeah, and he's one of the VERY FEW players I've supported, 100%, after disappointing me at KU. There are still guys like Josh Selby, who I wouldn't mind seeing here just to get a chance to play...but I won't stick my neck out for him and say he'll live up to potential.

Xavier Henry can still make it happen. The same way I did with Hinrich, I've watched a lot of him outside of when he played the Lakers or Thunder, and I believe in the dude.

What do you see his potential as RD?

What do you see his potential as RD?

It's hard to say, because of two things:

1) Will he stay our 6th man, or play next to Kobe?
2) How much room will he have in this offense once Kobe and Nash start sharing the ball? Henry could be handed the role of a spot-up shooter, which would hurt him a bit.

I've always seen him as a Michael Finley, with the ability to play much better on the defensive end than Finley did.  Am I saying he can be an all-star?  Not exactly, but neither was Lamar Odom, and at one point, you could argue that he should have been.

Henry does a lot of things well, nothing great.  Here's the kicker, though: there's a lot of room for him to do something great, and once that happens, he can break out and become an all-star level player.  That would be his ceiling, although it's slightly high at the moment.

If Henry can hit the 3 consistently he should be starting next to Kobe.

Nick Young is simply too much of an "irrational confidence guy" imo and I think he's much better as a scoring spark off the bench, much like Jamal Crawford or JR Smith.

Btw Henry is currently 4th in the league in PER. (Hill is 1st).
