A new player in the center rotation for the lakers.

Let's see how his first game goes with the lakers.
Gets the start out there with hill, nick young, Meeks and Blake...

Kaman put on a flat out show today offensively. He showed almost a little bit of everything. Such a diverse game as noted & it definitely showed today. Just awesome.

Now defensively however, much like Pau, there's a lot to be desired there as expected, but at this point sadly, I guess you kinda are what you are. He & Pau may improve a bit, but don't expect too much out of them there in general even with the team concept & all. They're just too incredibly soft on that side of the floor too often.

What I'd like to at least see more though is more aggression on the glass. Really go after the ball. Sometimes it feels like they just kinda stand there like stiffs & freeze to the floor instead of reacting and disallowing that second or third chance opportunity to the opposition.

Yeah defensively on isolation him and Pau isn't stopping anyone on a drive but crowding the paint on drivers and keeping our perimeter guys disciplined to stay defending the perimeter we are able to stop some drives and rim protecting, they can succeed, we just gotta keep them in those positions to do that.

Just realized there's two Chris Kaman threads in this section. Perhaps mods (if you read this) should merge em'?

Love how Kaman actually tries to go for blocks from time to time and genuinely contests shots unlike Pau.

Wanna' see Chris take away some of Pau's mid-range field-goal attempts. I think he's got a much better shot than Pau.

As do I.  Kaman tonight was

6 points 10 rebounds 2 blocks and 2 steals on 60% shooting that's what I like to see from him.

Chris is playing hard in a Lakers uniform and recorded some good games so far, but I don't think he will be back next year. It is time for him to retire.

We don't know.

But games like tonight when Hill and Gasol had no energy he is missed.

Not that it would have gotten much better as he was playing pretty bad lately.  Back may have had something to do with it.

but I'm not hearing anything, which could or could not be a good thing.

^ Why don't you use twitter and ask one of the Laker reporters or something? Seems strange they haven't given any kind of update.

I know this. We could have used a bigger body last night.

We opted to use Sacre instead when Kaman was available, right? I wonder what is up.

Kaman searching for lost opportunity

NEW YORK -- For the second straight season, Los Angeles Lakers coach Mike D'Antoni is dealing with a former All-Star on his bench struggling to accept the coach's decision not to play him.

Last season, things got so bad between D'Antoni and Antawn Jamison that the coach and player got into a verbal spat on the sidelines during a road game in Houston and Jamison aired his grievances through the media. This season, it's Chris Kaman feeling like the odd man out, but doing his best to be diplomatic about it.

Before Kaman received his fourth straight DNP in Wednesday's 99-94 win over the Brooklyn Nets, the Lakers' center said not only was he over the back injury he recently suffered in practice, he was cleared to play in the Lakers' 116-111 loss to the Washington Wizards on Tuesday but D'Antoni did not call his number.

"I was actually good last game, I just couldn't get in there, I guess," Kaman said. "I don't know. I'm ready to go."

^ I read that earlier this morning. Kaman should have received playing time yesterday.
