@stephennash dropped some vintage dimes during today's 5-on-5 action. Watch more scrimmage highlights on Lakers.com http://instagram.com/p/fBvBS8rO0Y/#

Could go in the practice thread but I don't mind scrimmage highlights here either :D looks awesome :)

Chris will get that midrange shot all day he better be hitting them. Pau still stuck out there in scrimmage taking long jumpers. He better have worked on that this summer.

Nash with some really sweet passing. It just feels good to watch basketball again, lol. Can't believe there's a game tomorrow night.

^ I agree to some extent although it was a short clip of a few highlights nonetheless so we don't know for sure if there was or wasn't some post-ups mixed in here & there. However, considering D'Antoni is the coach, it's certainly plausible that there were no post-ups for Pau & mainly only outside shots for our 7 footer.

He's running Horns with Kaman.  Not a hard guess.

When they ran the screen perfectly Kaman cut to the basket and posted up but Pau was left wide open from the mid range, cause the defender had to make a decision, in other scenarios Gasol will pass to Kaman for the easy layup, or it will be Pau that goes down low and Kaman that gets the mid range.

Either way they both will get an easy shot and IF Gasol misses, Kaman is there for the rebound.

Kaman and Gasol running horns is great for offense, for defense the combo is not so much.

Like what I'm seeing from Wesley defensively and Nash in general!

^ You're right that either way, they will likely be getting easier uncontested shots, however, that being said, I would love to see them both or at least Pau a little more inside still not only cause it's higher percentage, but to be in better position to get those second chance opportunities/rebounds in case they miss.

In all honestly though, I'm not too concerned despite MDA being the coach. That was just a little clip anyway of a few highlights like I said. I expect to see some actual post-ups here & there come Saturday.

When Pau operates from the post it will likely be a quick iso where he goes quickly, or a way to set up another teammate for an open shot.  The Pau post iso's we do see are going to be ones where he is making it happen for everyone else and if he decides to "go" he'll do it quickly.   That's the thing about the system, there isn't much room for isolation or forcing shots, Pau is gonna put pressure on the defense one way or the other and then set up a teammate or take the shot if he thinks he can make it or thinks he'll be fouled.

But when I heard D'antoni said in practice that a lot of what they are gonna do is gonna be from the post(was a phrase I caught on backstage Lakers) it makes me think Nash and Gasol will be the main facilitators and with Nick saying that Nash or Pau will hit you in the face with a pass my guess is that movement is gonna be around either when one or the other has the ball.

So that shall work.

From time to time Pau will HAVE to hit midrange. One because it will be what the defense gives him, Two because he'll have to hit it to make the defense try to defense elsewhere so he can attack from another spot. But he'll get his share of post touches.
