The NBA Finals could return to a 2-2-1-1-1 format.

The league's Competition Committee voted unanimously to recommend the change from the current 2-3-2 system and owners will vote on it next month at their meetings.

"The idea was raised at the Competition Committee and was well-received and the committee ultimately unanimously voted to recommend the change in format," NBA spokesman Tim Frank said Sunday.

If approved, it hasn't been decided if the change would begin with the 2014 finals.

Good. I've always had a problem with the 2-3-2 format. To me it seemed to penalize the hca team.

2-3-2 format puts alot of pressure on hca team for two games, which they shouldn't

Took long enough, 2-3-2 actually favors road teams immensely, anytime a split occurs in the first 2 games then all pressure for the remainder of the series goes to the home team. It might seem like common sense, but 2-2-1-1-1 actually gives little home field advantage only until that game 7 occurs which I believe is more effective.

I don't like this. A deserving champion should be able to win at least 1 of 3 on the road.

A deserving Champion wins 4 out the 7 games.. Home or away...

About time they changed it.

Then why the heck is the team with the homecourt advantage 22-6 in the 2-3-2 format???

It's much ado about nothing imo.
