I think you forgot PAu hit his wall 3 yrs ago & will not return as a dominant player again (that earns his $20 mIll price tag). Now can he be serviceable still? Yes, but dont jump the gun believing the hype cuz PAu will always submit to hard physical play come the season.

I think many of you forgot how talented Pau is in the center position. I hope D'antoni doesn't stick him at the 4 again....

At the center position, he'll be offensively better than Dwight was, post move wise. And as we all know, great passer for the cutters.

What to expect from Pau?

I'd say 15/9/3 is about right.

But we'll see what this system and style does for him.  We may get 17/10 again if he makes it through the season healthy.

Pau will average 18/9

He'll have some 25/12 games but I expect Hill to eat up rebounds and Pau will have a GREAt season. I truly think that.

nash will start the season in amazing fashion. he is getting too disrespected by the pundits and I was looking back at some of the Laker recaps, Nash was the only person outside of Kobe you could rely on when it was time to score.

i'm ready for the season to start

Depending on his knees, Pau seems like a lock to average 17/10. Wasn't he at 14/9 last year with majority of his looks coming from perimeter, on fewer shots per game with dwight taking most of the inside shots and playing on bad knees in need of surgery?

Oh, and he'll be playing for a contract too. Seriously, 19/11 wouldn't surprise me and would probably get him offers in the 10-12 million/yr range for 2 more years with team option for 3rd

Praying for 1. Kobe's Health, 2. High Draft Pick (Randle!) 3. Miracle Trade (Not yet), 4. Quality Free Agent (Boozer, kind of), 5. Brilliant Coaching Hire (Byron!...but the jury is out)

Training Camp DAY 4

Welcome to October. 28 days until #LakersTipOff pic.twitter.com/4uoRhDsC88

BVgagQBCAAAWUG-.jpg

VIDEO: Mike D’Antoni talks about what he envisions from a healthy @SteveNash this year - http://on.nba.com/171ELyP

D’Antoni acknowledges how Father Time always comes, etc., but still thinks @SteveNash has much to offer. He’s been showing it to start camp.

Is anybody standing out in camp thus far, coach D’Antoni? “Pau’s pretty good.”

D’Antoni said that when LAL’s coaches need to show an example of “multiple effort” on tape to the team, they pull film of @steveblake5.

Gasol and Nash didn’t practice this morning, because they’ll practice tonight. Goal is not to have them do two sessions in one day.

Both Gasol and Nash did almost everything in yesterday’s session and came through well.

Nope, he continues to go through rehab, making progress daily. RT @pmacla29: @LakersReporter any updates on @kobebryant ??

D'Antoni on @jrfarmar: "You can already see he’s going to be effective this year. The biggest thing is his toughness."

D'Antoni on @paugasol: "We'll feature him a lot more, so I think his triple-doubles will be a lot easier to come by."

D'Antoni on the Finals changing from 2-3-2 to 2-2-1-1-1: "I haven’t really thought about it. I hope we get there, to understand it"

Nice!! great updates by Ding, Miller, and of course Trudell!!

I'll be posting more as they come!!!

Gonna remind me a little of 2nd half of 2007-2008 season and beginning of 2010-2011 season when Pau was starting C..except he's older now..

Big men are different. 32 to 34 years of age is not like a 32 to 34 year old PG or shooting guard. If Pau really gets in Steve Nash shape he can be a beast for 32 minutes per game. He's got to get his head and body right!!

If Pau can remain healthy, what Nash will do for him if he can remain healthy as well, then 17/10/4 isn't out of the question for him.

DAY 5: Kobe's return, Young's trash talk

27 more days. #LakersTipOff pic.twitter.com/4VUXoGJJrO

BVlj9XWCAAEEIFO.jpg

.@NickSwagyPYoung kickin’ the shoes off after a long day at the office: pic.twitter.com/kxP3PhzIZo

D’Antoni said @paugasol is “way ahead” with rehabilitation, looking great while doing everything including scrimmaging.

D’Antoni said @kobebryant continues to have no timetable as he rehabilitates; he did a bit of set-shooting (non jumping) today.

Gasol is taking a measured approach to camp. Yes, he feels good right now, but it’s 5 days in. Focus is on staying healthy all year long.

The apparent standout at today’s practice was @NickSwagyPYoung. D’Antoni and a few players described it as his best session thus far.

Young is asked to show the discipline to play a full floor game, moving the ball, playing D, boarding. He can score, but efficiency is key.

Rookie Ryan Kelly (foot) has yet to participate in live drills/scrimmages thus far. He’s doing work on his own and some shooting.

A lot of media at the Lakes practice facility today.

Mike D'Antoni says he saw Kobe shoot for the first time...described it as not flat footed but on his tip-toes

Nick Young said he's been talkin smack to @kobebryant while he's on the sidelines - I told him he better watch out when Kobe gets back

Nick Young also said Kobe told him to work on his left #coachkobe

Shawne Williams on D'Antoni: "He's just been doing a lot of defense. That's the most shocking thing"

D'Antoni said Kobe did some set shooting today w/o jumping. Still no timetable for return

Nick Young on Kobe: "I've been talking a little trash to him to get back out there"

The Lakers have canceled their third and final two-a-day practice for Thursday. It will be single sessions for the rest of camp.

Nick Young on the Lakers' passing ability: "Nash and Gasol will hit you with a pass in the face if you aren’t looking"

Mike D'Antoni said Kobe did some set shooting today, no jumping. No timetable though for return

Mike D'Antoni: "Pau is way ahead of where I thought he might be coming back from surgery"

Mike D'Antoni on how much he devotes to offense & defense in training camp: "99.9% on defense & .1% on offense. Does that satisfy you?"

Lakers canceled their second practice session for Thursday without plans to reschedule. Team had two two-a-days on Sunday & Tuesday

Lakers will have single practice sessions for the rest of training camp

Nick Young on Kobe: "I tell him to stop dodging me. I can talk trash now. He can’t do nothing right now."

I asked Mr Mike Trudell who was impressing most in camp in his own personal opinion, I got this

I still need to watch a lot more, but Gasol is so obviously the best player when featured. Looks great. Another: Farmar

There’s superfluous buzz early in training camp for every team, but one player getting a lot for LAL is @JrFarmar.

THANKS MIKE!!!!

As more comes I shall post it!!! ENJOY!!!   Thoughts?

Young trash talking Kobe - i like the idea. When Kobe comes back, he's going to light a fire under him - should be super rewarding for Nick

A Reporter asked Nick Young what today's practice was dedicated around

"Getting back on transition and defense."
