he may have. I think it's about pacing and getting his explosiveness back and getting those muscles firing the right way.

So I assume that he is doing 'semi jumps' and set shots while out there.

I like that they aren't rushing him.  But the fact he's even able to participate in practice is a marvelous sign.

It will be fun to watch them enjoying themselves :)

I hope we have wins along with that.

It would be so amazing to be winning games AND having fun and it be expressed.

I LONG for the days to see them enjoying themselves like this

If we have fun like this and a winning and healthy season I'll be extremely happy.

I'd assume Nick Young posterizing someone would be an appropriate time =p

To be fair, times are good when you're winning. I get the sentiment and I also want them to play energetic and contend for the playoffs at the very least. But also its during the tough stretches you know what a roster is truly composed of and that is what I am really curious about this current team.

if kobe's life depended on it.. he could prob run or jump.. but prob. wouldn't be the safest thing to do.

The mindset of a professional athlete is so overlooked i think. I would be worried to do anything intensive on my ankle after such a thing

Kobe explaining why team chemistry is better at camp and will be better without Dwight's 'defiance'

Kobe Bryant: "It will be, just for the simple fact that there is no 'if's, ans or buts' about it.  The way that we get to winning a championship is the blueprint that I know, it's the blueprint that Kurt(Rambis) knows, it's the blueprint that Jordan Farmar knows and it's aggressive, it's combative, it's a challenging culture and you don't have that, 'Oh I don't think it should be. I think it should be fun, I think it should be this, I think it should be that.' No(repeated), THIS is how we do it and there's no second guessing that now."

Entire Interview to listen to here: http://espn.go.com/e...play?id=9737284

I like that.  There is no question this year or questioning.    We will be aggressive and combative, and not lackadaisical for fun.   Feeds more into my initial thought.  Though I do find it funny Dwight was trying to undermine Kobe on "how" to win a championship.

But it's good that it's no longer in the locker room and I think Kobe is too, he already seems happier.

Pau knows, but it's funny how he mentioned Kurt.

Everyone acknowledged a broken locker room and even NASH argued with him.

I think Nash will have a GREAT season. One of those ageless wonder type seasons where he exceeds 50/40/90. He is so smooth that through last year's struggles he was a highly efficient and consistent contributor.

Practice Updates from THIS MORNING AND LAST NIGHT

There will be more later cause they are running a two-a-day today!

Pau says he pretty much went through the entire practice today. Him and Steve Nash sat out the last drill

Pau says he doesn't feel like he'll ever be 100% again... Though much better than last year

Pau Gasol says that he doesn't know when contract negotiations will start, says he assumes it will depend on how well he plays

After practice today, D'Antoni said he really didn't get to do any type of team building last year, feels different this year.

D'Antoni singled out Wesley Johnson's length & athleticism & Nick Young's ability to score as some newbies that have stuck out to him

As expected, @paugasol and @SteveNash aren't doing full two-a-day practices, but both participated last night, and shot around this morning.

D'Antoni isn't going to declare starters at PF or SG/SF just yet for preseason. It's an open competition between several guys.

You can count on Gasol, Nash and (once he returns) Kobe being plugged in as starters. Then Hill/Young/Kaman/Blake/Williams etc. to compete.

What stands out super early in camp to D’Antoni? “Our shooting. It's a lot better."

Who already has a handle on what D’Antoni wants to put in on both ends? Obviously Nash gets it, but @paugasol “picks it up in 2 seconds.”

Last yr was “a struggle” pain wise for Gasol, who practiced fully last night and went through it “pretty successfully.” He’s feeling better.

Gasol said he’d “like to” play in the first preseason game, but we’ll see how things progress physically as the week goes on.

@SteveNash said his focus is finding the balance between getting work in and not overdoing it this preseason. Feels good so far.

Nash implied that there is clearly more positive energy this season than last, albeit with the differing outside expectations.

Asked about working w/@kobebryant, Nash said he thinks they had good signs and times last year and can find a way to balance their games.

Pau Gasol, Steve Nash won't participate in the second practice of Lakers' two-a-days. Mornings involve film & evenings involve scrimmages

Other than sitting out second part of two-a-days, Pau Gasol and Steve Nash plan to participate in the rest of training camp

This is the first two-a-day for the Lakers. The morning sessions are being used for teaching & installing concepts. Nights for scrimmaging.

@Bobby_Sacre working on sealing and finishing with both hands: https://vine.co/v/h6UIuTj2g0j

Pau Gasol practiced last night & was on-hand this morning. Described last year as a struggle while dealing w/ injuries. Feels better now.

Nash: “Even w/ how successful we (finished last) season, we never found an identity.” Having a full camp should help that grow this year.

Mike D'Antoni said that with Kobe out, all of the Lakers starting positions are up for grabs at camp except for Nash at PG and Pau at C

  1. Nash brought up to D'Antoni how much more positive energy already is with Lakers than a year ago. @paugasol: "You can definitely sense it."

There is no test for CHEMISTRY - but you sure as heck can smell it!!

More coming soon! :)
