One source familiar with Bynum’s progress told FOX Sports Ohio that Bynum is nowhere near ready and is likely to miss the entire preseason.

How is it that kobe got one of the worst injuries you can get and is expected to come back early in the season but this guy hurts himself bowling and he is missing a whole season and possibly more of this season. If its really that bad than why would anyone think its going to get any better. The guy obviously has had his career ending injury and cavs just don't know it yet.

Would anyone really be shocked if he missed this entire season for this exact same injury?

Probably that if he doesn't play this season then his NBA career is over.

All I know is that only 6 million is guaranteed for one year if he doesn't stay healthy.

None of this surprises me though.

Edit: Found more details.

Andrew Bynum’s contract with the Cavaliers will pay him between $6 million and $24.79 million the next two seasons.

The two-year deal, the details of which were revealed by ShamSports.com, calls for base salaries of $12,250,000 and $12,540,000. However, only $6 million of the first season is guaranteed if Bynum is waived before 5 p.m. Jan 7 (and will become fully guaranteed if he doesn’t clear waivers before Jan. 10), and none of the second season is guaranteed until July 11, 2014.

Mitch's plan:

After this season is over and Bynum is released by the Cavs the Lakers plan to sign him for the minimum contract for 3-5 years. He will wear #12 and in limited minutes play to about 60-70% as effective as he was in 2008. He will win comeback player of the year and will be on the all star ballot once again.

Mitch is a super genius.

I don't wish injury on anyone, but if I did it would be on this kid.  He is an absolute joke, has been since day one.

This can't surprise anyone.

Probably that if he doesn't play this season then his NBA career is over.

Pretty much is unless he can play at a decent level this year.

You know.. There was just a little teeny part of me that kinda wanted him to come back. Guess I'm just as crazy as Cleveland. Dude is evidently done. If he's not healed up by now he never will be.
