You could say there's some truth to this. For example one could argue school teaches a really conventional way of thinking and just forces you to often just regurgitate information you hear in a lecture -- and it's best to explore other perspectives, learn to think for yourself, etc.

However the way that was phrased was completely wrong.

Although it is fair to say just because you are considered intelligent, doesn't mean you can't be ignorant, and vice-versa.

I think school is very important if you can take advantage of it, but I do think most people agree in that today's US education is at best average when it comes to actually preparing students for the real world, or actual wisdom.

Standardization is a big issue people don't seem to notice.

Idk about that statement. School is for some people but not for everyone.

highschool on a whole is a joke as far as education and preparing you for the outside life.  College is as well, but that is a whole different discussion

That depends on your idea of intelligence. Jason probably believes that school teaches only factual knowledge, and not the experience needed to succeed in the real world.

I agree with that to some extent. Most teachers nowadays teach through a text book, and do it just to get paid, not to really teach a classroom. This is why our education system is so flawed. My professors in college usually just recite the text book. This isn't teaching, the students don't really learn anything through this. The reason why we go along with this is because we value the grade we get in our classes simply so we could move on. This forces the student to work toward the grade, and not toward the real education. Some cheat through this, and some are forced to drop out because they are discouraged by a grading system.

Jaden probably wasn't thinking of all that, he probably just didn't wanna go to some paid for private school one day, but it is a good argument.

I've always been against abortion.  After watching that interview, I'm rethinking my position.
