Kobe is doing unplugged at the moment talking about all this basketball moments

He talks about his original plan to "hobble" through the final 2 minutes of the Golden State game ON a torn Achilles and pulling up his tendon so that he could walk!

This...guy...is...unreal!!!!

RT @heidiburgett: Kobe talks about the moment he tore his Achilles http://www.tout.com/m/dxb4aj?ref=twuh93v9

In that clip, Kobe says he tried to "pull the tendon up" so he could try to hobble through the rest of the game. Unreal.

Seriously.. so when Kobe felt his tendon was gone... when we see him reaching down to feel it, it was actually him seeing if it was there.  When he realized it wasn't he actually started trying to PULL the tendon up so he'd be able to walk and originally intended on playing the final 2 minutes of that game ON IT....

FREAKING... WOW....

un-freaking-real....

Definitely a quality that analysts should pay more attention to when discussing great athletes.

Yeah but Kobe has that will to win, I don't think anyone has one on the level of him.   It's just unheard of.

Kobe has one of the best 'motors' in all of sports. His mental abilities are insane. I swear he is a Jedi.

Here's the official quote

Speaking at Nike headquarters in Oregon on Friday, Bryant explained what was going through his mind moments after the injury took place. “When I first did it, right there, I was trying to feel if the tendon is there or if it’s gone,” Bryant said. “I realized it wasn’t there. I was literally trying to pull the tendon up, so hopefully I could walk and kind of hobble through the last two and a half minutes and try to play.” NBCSports.com

I think this statement puts to rest the issue of who was responsible for Kobe's long minutes of playing time towards the end of last season.
