The Gasol they were talking about was Marc

I disagree. Rondo is an elite two-way PG when healthy and one of the few guys with a Kobe-like mindset. Love is the best PF in the game, when healthy. Those two, along with Kobe and a strong wing defender who can shoot 3s and Pau at reduced price could be pretty good.

Save the money build your team and try again. EVENTUALLY a star is gonna take the plunge. (Kobe's gonna probably have to retire though IF the star lane doesn't work this upcoming FA)

No way, his age doesn't matter.  Kobe will be balling out of control at 38 and will bring in new guys to make a run with!!

At this point the way New York is playing, I see Melo coming to the Lakers as a LOCK.

With that being said, I'm just hoping he is willing to no take the max, and influence Kobe to pay a pay cut as well as Pau.

Yeah the 2014 free agency doesn't contain alot of BIG NAMES, but there are guys on the list that can help build contenders.

Luol Deng, Marcin Gortat, ZBO, Jerryd Bayless, and Ramon Sessions are all players whom will probably go for a low bid that the Lakers can structure upon.
