40 ft is nothing...really...especially cause his landing was good

i've seen people who have NO idea what they're doing..

exhibit A: this made me laugh hysterically

 http://www.youtube.c...2IgdihGL4#t=264

skip to 4:23

advise to those who cliff jump like myself, or high dive like kobe did...wearing shoe while doing this is not encouraged, seen many sprained ankles

heck, just happened last trip i had, told a guy to not wear shoes cause of sprains and whatnot, what happens? Sprained ankle lol

also, doubt that's 40 feet..

And Kobe wore shoes =p

He better be wearing shoes cuz that force when you hit the water from that high is no joke. I hate this video for even attempting it. This was dumb & foolish regardless if he had shoes on. He couldnt even jump it looked like achillies went out on take out = SMFH. Lakers better hit him up like c'mon son dont be dumb fall back from dumb sheet.

I wondered if he have something in his contract that allows him to ride a sports bike.  Last I check he have a nice ducati 1198.  That aint slow bike at all.  Probably can afford the new 1199.   People don't cruise on those bikes.  I have an R1 and you should see how i ride in the canyons. Though I do it mostly on track now.

Kobe's always do this kind of things. Weather its jumping over cars (some said its fake) or sky diving, he always do crazy stuff like this. I do agree he needs to be more smart about things now. He aint young anymore and he is recovering from some say a career ending injury.

shoes want to float....so the impact is worse since your body is going down, while the shoes want to go up

shoes DO NOT absorb that impact, i'm telling you

plus it REALLY wasn't that high

That seemed like about 40 feet. The fall was about 3 seconds, so that would make sense.

looks kinda fun

yea Id do it. Its like those people on TV who jump from the 40 ft cliff into the ocean below. Only in a pool theres no current to pull you under, no rocks to smash against and no sharks, jelly fish, etc to land on...lol

Honestly though is he just having fun or is this for rehab reasons? Is it some type of test to be able to simulate impact and stress absorption levels on the Achilles Tendon? Or some other rehab medical thing?

This. He could've endangered his season if he fell off wrong.

This. He could've endangered his season if he fell off wrong. So what, he gave these fans and organization, 17 years of his life. now it's about kobe and what he wants to do.

If he got hurt, they could have voided his contract
