Not much really but news has been slow the last few days so I thought I'd draw some attention to something actually positive about Pau Gasol lately.

This off-season he has been working dilligently not only on rehabbing his knees(who are said to be in no pain) but also in trying to bounce back stronger.

If anything he is not going to walk into camp this year out of shape and has recently said he wants to get back to his all-star form.

Now those of us that have watched Gasol over the past few years are really of a "believe it when I see it" mentality, and have heard the 'system' excuse a thousand times and saw when Gasol was still unsuccessful when in the block.

But just as the year prior we acknowledged when Metta was coming on strong to close the year when in shape and healthy, we give the same benefit to Gasol, and much to his credit to close out the year he did play at a higher level and healthy in particular within the horns sets the Lakers were running.

Horns is something we're going to be running a lot more this year and Gasol is the type of center both D'antoni and Nash are more familiar with designing an offense for.

Now do I think Gasol will return back to all-star form?   If the last few years were indication I'd say no.  But do I think he'll do just fine at center for us?   Yes and I think he'll have a better year than his last 2.

One thing's for sure, Gasol is certainly been putting the work in this off-season to ensure he does all he can physically to get to that point

Today, again, workouts in the morning & the evening. I'm working hard to prepare myself for next season. Hard work pays off. #lookingahead

This morning I continued with my training. 1500m swimming & after a good workout in the weight room. I hope you're having a great Saturday!

Good workouts today. This morning 28 miles on the bike and this evening good weight room session. I keep making progress. #lookingahead

Already looking in much better shape than the pool pictures.  And his dedication to training again is a breath of fresh air, and is also a good sign for his health that he can put in such work in the off-season getting his body ready.

But as is anything with Gasol, all that matters is what he's got mentally, and now it's what he's got mentally as well as his health.

Wish him the best and hope he has a good bounce back year.   He is certainly working hard to get there.

Show us when the time comes.   That's all we ask.

Maybe they should have thrown in the fact that he'd be gunning for DPOY!

Agreed, hopefully his hard work pays off and translate onto the court. Please Pau do not become lackadaisical and give up on plays. Go hard or go home.

Well we surely can run horns a lot more this year which is where I think Gasol will be best tbh.

Ok we get it, players work out during the offseason. There doesn't need to be a thread about everytime they do a workout. Its their damn job.

The majority of the players will be working hard this offseason. Some will state it to the public, others may not. I'll judge their work ethic when I see them perform well consistently.

Indeed. Looks as if he has some definition in his arms, they're no longer floppy.

Save these Gasoft rumors of improving & or getting stronger. He hit his wall 2 yrs ago = he has only declined ever since as his body continues to break down on him. He aint built for long seasons & there is not going to be some resurgence.

If he is smart, he needs to play at a hall of fame level this up coming season.  Unless he doesn't want a nice contract after the season. This is his last chance to get a big contract before he retires.

MDA is an offensive genius. I hope he sticks to his guns and keeps doing what he does best: Run and Gun. That's the only way to coach.

Unlike many people, I believe Pau will have a very good season.  All-star season? I don't think so, but he'll be a lot better as long as he's at the center position.
