I just hope this motivation provides determination, energy, and focus for the Lakers this upcoming season. Last year the Lakers seemed severely disengaged during some games. Remember the home game against the Wizards? The Lakers had a huge lead, seemed completely passive afterwards, and ended up losing the game by three or so points. If the focus and energy can be channeled towards our defensive efforts, perhaps we'll see a more sound team with chemistry.

The Lakers won't contend unless we magically have 11-12 Nash, 09-10 Gasol, a healthy Kobe, a strong bench and a tough defense unit as a team.

But we can use the motivation to stay on the same page and at least attain the 7th or 8th seed, whereas ESPN ranked us as 12th. Just making the playoffs would be a huge statement.

It's a season of high hopes, low expectations.

Until the playoffs where he clanged jumpers and did nothing to prevent that first round exit

Barnes is one of those players that's awesome in the regular season and a non factor in the playoffs

Yes   Washed up. It's like saying Jamison did well WHEN HE PLAYED. He played his role so well he and a team of All Stars got put out early in the Playoffs again

Sure Barnes wasn't much of a factor on the offensive end until the last game where he scored 30 points, 6-7 from beyond the arc and 11-14 overall.

He still provided energy, rebounding, and defense. Almost every other player had a decrease in playoff production compared to their season production. Heck, maybe we should credit Memphis's defense.

I wanted him back with the Lakers this offseason, and I'm sure many others did as well.

Barnes runs his mouth. Ain't nothing new.

But the Clippers are this decades Phoenix Suns. They will not win a title. They won't even make a Finals. Not with their current personnel.

Nick Young dunks on Barnes

Instagram that

"Bryant had come to rage against the idea that Howard's clownish disposition could overtake the locker room, the Lakers' culture, and had warned Howard that he would never, ever let it happen."
