I disagree and the debate isn't about eras per se but what he did and how he did it. MJ went 6 for 6 in Finals and was the best player hands down for nearly a decade. If Lebron was 2 for 2 right now I'd give him the nod as being able to catch MJ or if Kobe would have 3 peated that 2nd time and possibly a 7th I'd give him a shot easily.
The bottom line and this my last post in this thread is that MJ did what Kobe is still trying to do in a much much shorter time. The end.
The problem with the Jordan debate is. Even if there is a greater player than he was in the future it still won't be recognized. Jordan is just untouchable in people's mind. I don't think mj would stand out any more so in today's game than Kobe does
