Everybody and their mother believes that the Lakers will go no higher than a 7 seed. A 6 seed is pretty much over exceeding expectations.  As much as I want the Lakers to fire MDA and it is a good chance they will if the Lakers suck, I always wanted the Lakers to have a sucessful season even if it such an eye sore to see mr prinkles on the bench. I love the "us against the world" mentality. And ofcourse the guy who will run the ship will be Kobe.  So if Kobe plays most of the season and lead the lakers to a 4th seed or higher, should he be no doubt the MVP?  Or will the King James train going too fast and end up winning another one even if the heat probably gonna suck next year?

I want him to win another season MVP. Yes I know it doesn't mean as much to him as a finals MVP but he deserves more than just one. Amazing how the top 4 best player in the history of the nba only have 1 mvp.  To me I dont think Kobe will ever win another mvp. He is such a polorizing figure and a lot more Kobe haters out there than Lebron haters. Kobe needs to do crazy things for the beed writers to vote for him.

MDA is an offensive genius. I hope he sticks to his guns and keeps doing what he does best: Run and Gun. That's the only way to coach.

Lebron won't win it this season. Durant will do everything in his power to secure it. That being said, Kobe coming back ACL to start the season is already a big story. If that couples with him performing like last season or better (you know like 30+ ppg) and Lakers getting #4 or better, he will deserve it. But there are people that says Kobe is overrated even with 27/6/6 season.. so you never know.

You really just created a thread on some random scenario for Kobe to win MVP?  What if Golden St wins 60 games should Steph get MVP?  What about if the Heat win 73 should Lebron be crowned the MVP again?

What if the Lakers play good team ball and Kobe only avg 23ppg should he win the MVP?

Yes, it should.

But will it happen? No.

MVP's are a joke.

Lebron will win it, if not it's D12's.

Don't care about MVP's, I care about rings.

MVP's are a subjective award, subjectivity has no bearing on anything.  The media makes a big deal about MVP because they give out the award.  Until the MVP is awarded by players and coaches in the league it won't mean jack.  Championships and winning matter, nothing else.

MVPS mean very little...

in fact... maybe Lebron really isn't that special...

Shaq only won 1 MVP

Kobe only won 1 MVP

But LeBron, Jordan, Kareem, Wilt, Bird, Magic, Russell and Duncan all won multiple MVP's. It's has merit. That's nine of the greatest players of all time.

It has merit because the media tells you it does.

Ask the players themselves whether they'd have an MVP or a ring.  You'll get the same answer every time.

OKC

Spurs

Denver

Clips

Grizz

Lakers (tie)

Houston (tie)

But now Houston has D12, KB is still questionable, MWP is gone, Pau/Nash/KB are +1 year older and we added bench scrubs to a 1 year contract while we anticipate the 2014 draft and FA markets.

How the hell are we gonna break into the top 4 seeds with that reality.

Were a 9-12 spot at 35-42 wins

Kobe, Shaq, Hakeem, Oscar, Dr. J, West, Elgin, KG, Dirk have all won it once or less. That's the other side of the coin for you.

Finals MVP is all that counts.

If he didn't get the MVP when he should have by a landslide, he's not getting it this year at 35.

I could really careless about that MVP. Dirk won it and got bounced out the first round out of the playoffs one year.Steve Nash won it twice and hasn't won a ring yet.

I'm sure all those that have won it would trade them on for a ring.

That's the second tier of all time greats. Kobe belongs in the first tier of all time greats with Jordan, Magic, etc. and those others players are in that second tier. Some people like the discredit the MVP when their favorite player didn't win any or few.
