Abdul-Jabbar told the San Francisco Chronicle last month he met Howard only once and that Howard expressed an interest in learning from the former Lakers captain but he never again reached out to Abdul-Jabbar.

‘He’s charming, he’s charismatic, very nice young man,’ Abdul-Jabbar said. ‘Maturity-wise, he doesn’t get it.’

Harden gets billed as versatile but I don't truly see it unless I am missing more in-depth. But I see him as a sub par defender, a 'willing' passer, not great but that speaks more to his unselfishness at times. Undersized at 6'5 (probably less than that it seems), plus I have yet to understand why Kobe gets criticized for forcing shots in certain games but yet players like Harden get an ok for spot up three's in transition, especially with contention.

Ultimately Kobe relishes the spotlight and those 'it' moments like Jordan, Harden up until now has shown otherwise.

Prime Kobe would abuse Harden, even a pre-2000 Kobe would contend against him.

If Harden stopped trying to draw so many darn fouls he'd probably be a better player.

Seriously I have seen him sabotage his own jump shot by throwing his own head back if someone ever gets close or tries to block his shot.   And the layups he shoots with no contact yet throwing himself on the ground cause he's hoping for a whistle I should classify as live ball turnovers

These comparisons between guys 10 years or so apart are always flawed.  If I had my choice of Harden or Kobe today to build a team of course you would choose Harden but Kobe is a legend.  In the end Kobe is a legend that came off a great individual season and James Harden is still writing his story and is already on a path to greatness.  Just my take.

True, but as of last season Kobe was the better player.

This, he tries to flop a lot to get calls its very annoying. He does it as well on defense.

Out flopping Lebron is no easy task.

His flopping if I remember caused some costly turnovers in that OKC series against the Heat.  At one point all he did was try to flop even when it wasn't working.

ESPN's ratings are slipping so much that they will SAY JUST ANYTHING to get attention and light up the 'boards" and other social media

All they can do is recite stats, and gossip. They are about entertaining folk more than anything else. Not that that's bad, but it can't be the driving force. I can go without ESPISSIN for weeks at a time now. They had better watch out for the New Fox Sports station.

I expext more outrageous comments and stories cause the competion is getting tighter
