As him being one of my favorite players I hope we do get him but I think he's not going to accept the vet min.

Thing is, will he have the choice to choose from a larger offer?

Steve Kyler @stevekylerNBA 2h

Beasley is leaving roughly $2 million on the table... pretty safe to assume his camp believes he can pick that up getting out of Phoenix

Kobe and Randle led Lakers lead the team to a 32-50 record. the Lakers select Myles Turner with the 5th pick.

the question is whether he'd take the vets min to be here.

We've so far pulled off a tri-facta of people taking less this off-season

Kaman
Young
Farmar

The question is whether or not Beasley becomes the 4th.

On the top of my priority list there's 2 teams I DON'T want to get him.

1 is the Heat

2 is the Clippers

I WANT us to ultimately get him.

BUT I wouldn't put it past Philly to try to claim him off waivers.  Though I think ultimately it'd be pointless for THEM in the long run.

I think there are some teams that will.

One was an injury prone year, the other Lindsey Hunter didn't know wth to do with him and kept changing his role.

He isn't gonna be asked to carry our team, he'd be asked to be a role player off the bench along with the likes of Young and Kaman.

if you think Beasley is gonna single handedly dash our "championship aspirations" then I'd say you're sorely mistaken.

If he doesn't work out this year he'll be let go of, and if he does, we'll reap the benefits.  Simple as that.

Unless you think Beasley is just gonna rupture apart our locker room with the likes of veterans like Kobe, Nash, and Gasol there... one of which Beasley idolizes.

Can you get the quote on where Beasley said he was a die hard Laker fan and idolizes said Laker.  I never said that Beasley was a cancer, just said that its a useless investment IMO.  As I've before if we know we aren't competing for a ring let those minutes be used to develop guys we have.  We have 2 guys in Kelly and Harris that could stick if they are given some extended minutes.  We sign Beasley they either ride the pine or go to the D league.  Playing NBA ball they get better.  Lakers are finally at a point where they actually have to develop talent.  Why not use this year to do it?

With Lamar Odom out of the picture now and Ronnie Brewer signing with the Rockets, I'd say go for Beasley.

It's an experimental year, and a low risk with a high reward potential. I wish we would have had the bench we assembled this offseason for last season. Our starters would have received much more rest...

Low risk (if he takes vet min) high reward.  There isn't really any other SF/PF player with as much talent as Beasley left out there so why not?

It would benefit every team in NBA if Beasley signs with the Heat. From what I know they Amnesty Mike Miller couple of months ago and still haven't signed anyone other than Greg Oden who I think got 2 million. If Beasley signs with the Heat that means they can't sign anymore bigs that can solve the rebounding problem.

Idk how much he'll help the clippers though.

I don't understand why this is a big deal. How many teams even want this guy?

the question isn't whether we go after him. We will.

The question is if he'll take less to play for us if another team like Philly etc offers him more money to be there.

Signing Shawne Williams today is a camp invite but it's also an 'insurance policy' in case Beasley doesn't sign here.

We haven't officially signed Ryan Kelly, have we? Sources say he hasn't been that impressive during his workouts, and his foot injury remains to be a problem. What if they let him play in the D-league and sign both Shawne Williams and Michael Beasley?

Then our roster would be at 15.

Then our roster would be at 15.

Nash, Farmar, Blake, Kobe, Meeks, Young, Johnson, Harris, Williams, Hill, Beasley, Gasol, Kaman, Sacre.

Wouldn't it be 14? (Assuming Kelly isn't added to the roster this year)

Unless I'm missing someone.

if we signed Kelly it would be 15, we'd have to sign Kelly to send him down to the d-league without any other team picking him up.

We had Lamar forever

Suns president:

Yet you guys want a guy like this on the LAKERS. Not even the Suns could handle him and he got benched and waived within a year of signing 3 year 18 million contract.

I cringe at the thought of MDA attempting to control Beasley.
