^ Weeks? I thought this was almost over.

Apparently PHX is gonna be willing to bite that financial bullet lol

Cause IF they don't waive him today or tomorrow they'll have to pay him this year of his contract if they waive him anytime after that so, their fault if they don't lol.

I don't see any real benefit to PHX waiving him.  If they waive him they would have to pay his salary unless he is claimed within the waiver period, but no GM is stupid enough to pick up that contract so essentially he'd clear the waiver's list and either sit at home or get a vet min from an NBA willing to take a chance on him.  They can still let him play out this year, see what he does and decide to waive him at the end of next year and eat half of the money that is guaranteed.  Either they waive him today or later but unless someone claims him they are on the hook anyway.

yeah but they have the option right now to "stretch" him.  Which would cost them less per yearly having to pay out that 7 million over the next 3 years in smaller bits.  I think they lose that if he isn't waived by the 1st of September

That isn't that great of an option for a team that has no plans on being good for atleast another 2-3 years.  They can eat the full 6M this year and waive him at the end of year and eat 3.25M or so for next year and be done with him.  Why stretch any of that into year 3 when it will cost you the same.  His salary isn't preventing them from making any moves.  In the end it benefits them none to drop him.

Trade them meeks

I wouldn't mind this, but If this happens according to my espn trade machine calculation   that would mean we give up Meeks 1,550,000 and take back B-easy 6,000,000, which won't work.

Hope to see Beasley in purp and gold soon or else he can join his friend KD in Oklahoma.

Yep unless they want to pay a bulk of the contract if they waive him after this date.

He'll get this year paid if they waive him after today.

Brett Poirier NBA @BrettNBA 29 Aug

Report: The Suns trading away Caron Butler was to clear cap space, likely to waive Michael Beasley, via Paul Coro.

Id trade Pau for Gortat, Beasley and Dragic right now lmao...too bad PHX is not that stupid

I wouldn't. Gortat and Kaman and Hill don't seem like they fit.

Dragic for Blake and Meeks? Sure.

Beasley for Blake and Meeks? Sure.

They have a few hours to do it.

It's not that they CAN'T waive him after today, it's that today would be the most financially wise.

We arent getting much value for Pau at this stage with a 19M contract.  Dragic is a 15/8 PG that can ball.  Dragic is worth more than Meeks and Blake together.  Do your homework

I wouldn't. Gortat and Kaman and Hill don't seem like they fit.

Dragic for Blake and Meeks? Sure.

Beasley for Blake and Meeks? Sure.

Not really a reader of BleacherReport but interesting article I stumbled upon looking for Beasley news http://bleacherrepor...d-marijuana-use

Pretty much what I've been saying before.  His issues aren't weed use.  Just stupidity and the lack of good decision making and judgment.
