2009 Finals

2010 Finals

I have few things in mind about Dwight, Lebron and of course Jordan  It is gonna be pretty epic regardless.

What do you think he will say?

Don't think he's in any position to discuss MJ at this point regardless.  MJ did what Kobe is trying to do in a much shorter time.  The Kobe vs MJ thing died after we got swept by Dallas

Him getting a 6th ring depends on if Melo wants to take a backseat to him because we have no shot at LeBron.

He'll say 'winning my 6th means a lot. I pass magic and now I'm with Jordan plus it feels good to bring back in LA'

And then 'winning my 7th means I passed the greatest player to play the game Michael Jordan and I'm with Robert horry'

He probably has 2, maybe three years in his tank.

Next year will not be kind.  The team will have to over-achieve to even put the Lakers in a position of making the playoffs in a decent seed.  Then by the time Kobe is back, the team will have re-adjust to life with Kobe, without the benefit of a training camp with him.

That leaves 1, maybe 2 years to do the near impossible.

And, if Kobe is not performing at the level we are all used to (and he holds himself up to) will he have the fortitude to take a subservient role in terms of minutes to allow our 2014 leaders to make plays, or will he retire if he can't perform at the level he wants to?  I sorta view him as a Ray Allen type player coming off the bench for 15m to light up the team.  If he can play that role, then great, there might be a ring in his future.  If not, then there won't be.

^ I don't know if Kobe would ever accept the bench role.

even in NBA2k, at 40 years old, kobe still doesn't like to come off the bench...

and, when he was 40 coming off the bench for me, he still got 32 mins a game...

^ I don't know if Kobe would ever accept the bench role.

I don't want to see Kobe off the bench much less any less a player than last year.  If he looks bad this year I'd rather him hang it up.
