It tried so hard to get an exclusive contract because its a massive money maker.

It has nothing to do with keeping up with another company on their programming.

Exactly, if you see a competitive game in NFL 2K series starting to take more of your Madden fanbase every year no matter what improvements you place in your game simply because 2K was putting out a better product. Wouldn't you try and get a exclusive to NFL games since obviously your employees may just not be as talented as the competition.

Well about 48 hours after NBA Live announced the features in their game that would make it different.  Their big selling point was new ball mechanics, actually seperating the hand and the ball instead of making them one(as in when you bounce it if someone times a swipe correctly they won't suddenly hit the hand they can legitimately steal the ball) and then also announcing that you can block dunks.

It didn't take 2K no more than a week to implement blocked dunks as well as mechanics into their game.  So they pretty much blew whatever Live was gonna use against them out of the water.

Too damn picky?

For $60 a pop, I deserve to be picky.  I think you guys are too damn easy on these games, way too easy.  And the reason being, there's no competition, so you can't see just how flawed these pieces of cobbled together, reconstituted messes are.

Nope, I won't waste my time with the 2K basketball games.

Steered away from sports games in general.  They have become so bogged down in the details that game play has slipped by the way side.
