The hype on Greg Oden is ridiculous.  When did Greg Oden all of a sudden turn into Dwight Howard over night.  This man has played a total of 82 games his whole career a span on 1 NBA Season and yet has missed the past 4 years but people are acting like Miami just picked up a solid center [expletive] outta here this man has lots of prove this year with Miami before I book a 3 peat for them let alone has to be able to shed the injury prone label also.

Oden has only played in 82 games, true.

Lets not forget what he did though. 11 points, 9 rebounds, 2 blocks and a legitimate defensive anchor. If he stays healthy (cliche) he's among the very best defensive interior prescences in the league.

Should've stayed away from the spotlight, much better for him to go to another place. Regardless hope he stays healthy.

Of course he signed with the Heat. Why would he sign with New Orleans? Despite their additions, they're still not a championship team. Miami was the most likely choice from the very beginning, and I'm not sure why he took so long to decide. He's just like another Dwight Howard when it comes to making a decision. There are many healthy players who would kill to have a chance to play in the NBA, and he takes his sweet time holding everyone up. I remember hearing about his indecision a year or so ago with Cleveland being brought up multiple times. Teams are so hungry for a potentially decent big man it's ridiculous. It was never a matter of money, it was just the chance at hopping at a championship before it's too late.

If he's healthy, he's a solid solid pick up for them. Miami's long standing weakness of small lineups and rebounding will be gone. If he's injured again, then it's back to the regular playing field.

"Obviously the chance to play with the best player in the world and compete for a championship was a big selling point," Oden told me. "But more than that, what I really liked was how they thought I could really add something to their team. They’ve won back-to-back championships without me, so for them to pursue me as hard as they did meant a lot, especially given all that I’ve gone through."
