The author is a "Rockets fan who will follow the destruction in Harden and Howard's wake" or some nonsense like that. Yahoo's articles have consistently been subpar from extremely biased untrained authors. This is a classic case of talking smack while the other man is down.

You you could take that bolded statement the other way completely   and it would make perfect sense

If there's one thing Harden is better at, it's driving and drawing fouls.

Kobe in his prime drew just as many fouls

I'm saying as of last season...because as of last season, Kobe still outclassed Harden.

That was malicious with Harden moving into him apparently, but Dwayne Wade jumping into the air and superhero elbowing Lance Stevenson and "lance got in his way"  and THIS is inadvertant

...  screw the NBA

He is a better player than Kobe right now but a better jump shooter than Kobe....  please.

He's a more efficient shooter, yes. Not sure why you're laughing at me for saying that, it's true...

I'm not saying he's a more skilled player than Kobe. I think Kobe is the most skilled, fundamentally sound player ever. He has a wider offensive arsenal than any player in NBA history.

But Lebron is more efficient from almost every spot on the floor. Kobe owns the elbow jumper, I know that much.

And as for the original topic...buffoonery. Kobe at 34 was still better than Harden.

Let's put it like this

Harden is a great player(in the making), but they were talking about a young KBB in the context of MJJ.

it's like how you just have a feeling Rose is bvetter than Westbrook or Durant is better than melo or Kyrie is better than Steph Curry.

Actually more extreme, though people had iverson,Vince, and T-Mac ranked ahead of Kobe at one point, totally lacking kobe's ALL_WORLD defense at the time

I would still take Kobe on one leg over James Harden 20 fears from now.

Icker, I don't know, after that arachnophobia kicks in on Harden he may be unstoppable.

Well Durant IS clearly a better player than Melo.  That ish right there isnt even up for debate...

C'mon. How is it not up for debate. Durant got to the Finals with a guy that COULD be the best SG and a Top 5 Guard in Westbrook. Put Melo on the Thunder and Durant on the Knicks. When Melo played with a winner, the results were exactly what other superstars do. Lose in the WCF to Kobe or Magic or Duncan or even Dirk or HaKeem.

I question your bball IQ If you think Melo is as good of a player as KD.  KD is a better shooter, defender, rebounder and when put in position to be a playmaker this year became one.  Melo is none of those.  I dont want to hear the old adage that KD can't play defense either.  KD has improved significantly on the defensive side of things.  He isnt an all world defender but he sure as hell isnt a poor one like Melo.  Please stop the whole if this guy played with a top 5 this guy and this guy argument.  Thats a poor way to enter a debate.

Let's not act like Melo hasnt been on some well balanced teams with one of the best coaches in history.  He is who he is.  A great scorer, above avg shooter, poor offensive playmaker and poor defender.

KD was a better player in 2011 than Melo has ever been in his entire career.  On top of that he's possibly getting better at the little things that Melo has never improved at. Kevin Durant is the clear cut 2nd best player in the NBA.

KD is a bit better.

Mainly based in his 6'11 height and sick wingspan.

He is a better energy guy defensively.

But name me one team Melo had with great balance.

2009 Nuggets were a damn good team so was 2010.  KD is shooting 50% from the field.  Thats unheard of from a guy that shoots that many jumpers and scores that much in this era.

KD is a bit better.
