Kid has a good post game, can run the floor, is good on fast breaks, doesn't give up on defense, can get to the basket.

I love that we got him.

Why do so many people hate on the fact that some fans get excited or glad about a signing???

How desperate are we that we're excited about this?? It's like we wanted to see anything happen. We need to get really lucky with this last forward spot

Our Forwards

Jordan Hill

Wesley Johnson

Ryan Kelly

Elias Harris

Unless you know another play that is interested in signing with the Lakers for the same price then give me some names...  I don't understand why people are getting upset at other fans just because they are optimistic and have some kind of hope for the teams future. Yeah next year is a coin toss but theirs nothing wrong with being excited and staying optimistic.  True fans stay positive through thick and thin.

Some fans with a superiority complex just like to say negative things to appear "different" or "real".   And focus too much on the negative but bash people who are optimistic not realizing how pessimistic they are in return and that they are being anything but even on both sides.   Don't let it get to you too much :)   There's only a select few here that are like that that you know will be negative nancies 99% of the time you see their name pop up before even reading their posts.

I'm surprised Mitch didn't go sign Marcus Landry first.

I'd rather stay away from a second guy that needs 18 shots to get 18 points =p    Much as he impressed me in summer league he isn't gonna get those many shots on the actual team and if he's an 18 for 18 points guy it wouldn't help to get him a small amount of shots.

Camp invite for sure, but dunno if he makes the team.

When did you become god?? You cant make decisions on this site or any other. You're the kinda of person I'd really like to meet. I would love it. This is a site for EVERYONE to voice their opinion within reason, have fun and regurgitate things we've read. If you'd like to discuss it in person you can always send me your number and address.

if you're gonna bash every move we make and belittle every fan that may see some potential in Harris(despite the fact no one's excited or calling him a savior)

then you can always end your tenure of being a Lakers fan from 75 and end it at 2013 and not watch.

Staying optimistic and being a realist is two different things. When you know basketball, you manage to keep it real and stay positive at the same time. If you look I'm one of the only people on here who believe we will be seeded 5 or 6 this year. But  Miss Majesty doesn't seem to realize I've been positive but at the same time can be critical of Kobe when he is being a butthead. I believe with everyone playing as hard as I anticipate; they will surprise that idiot Charles Barkley and many others. I'm just not excited about this particular move. All the others I'm very excited about

Because I'm a true fan and I want to win every year therefore I don't get excited about some guy that had a decent summer league. I don't get excited just to have a warm body. I really believe we will get lucky make another acquisition that can contribute this year. (I don't know Chris Wilcox or something) I believe we are not looking to tank. I believe we stand a chance to go further than last year. But I don't believe in getting excited just because we made some pootbutt move. It would be like being optimistic about Sacre. I knew he sucked when we drafted him. For you guys that have never been on the inside of all this, there is a lot of politics that are involved in who we get or not. Who we draft or acquire sometimes involves the agent of someone we may want later or we have now. Therefore (not meaning you laker101) when some cyber dreamer who more than likely has never been or doesn't even know someone on the inside and or may have never played sports other than in the backyard starts yipping off at the mouth as if they know it all is FREAKIN hilarious to me. I don't believe next year is a coin toss, I believe its going to be one of the biggest tryouts in history and this team will perform well. If you want be on the 2015 and 2016 world champion Lakers team you better bring you A-Game in the 2013/2014 season.

Seems like the only one overvaluing how much Harris is going to do, is you.

You assume people are hyped up about him or feel he's some sort of savior, when in reality there's been nothing of the sort.

People don't mind the signing because he was very good in college and played well for us in summer league.

Those are two fine signs.   But nothing that's making people say he's gonna be the difference maker.

So you needlessly jumping on people and belittling them on their overblown opinion(which no one has made) makes it seem like you're the guy that's assuming.

When no one is saying "I like/don't mind this signing."

and you respond with

"I CAN'T BELIEVE PEOPLE ARE EXCITED! THIS IS STUPID!! THIS IS STUPID!"

it makes you look like the overreacting one just being pessimistic for no reason at all.

And that.... *read below*

Let's just wait and see what happens. He could be of use, he may not be of any use.... that is why it is low risk with a potential value. If he puts in the effort, he may fit this team well.

These guys are all three point specialist as well, but also don't play a slick of defense...

Broken record coming again, but D-West & K-Mart were legitimate guys who do it at BOTH ends of the floor. Still don't understand the Lakers fo on that front. & don't give me the chemistry issues/bad attitude thing, for the vets min. plus the fact that we're not exactly championship contenders for this upcoming season to begin with, do you really have so much to lose? Nvm all that other bull[expletive], those two produce ON the court ON BOTH ends of the floor. You just can't say that for a lot of guys, but what can ya' do I guess.. end semi rant.

Lakers aren't the only team passing on D-West.  I'm surprised that people are quick to say other teams gave up on players (like Daye and Thomas) yet won't comment on D-West getting bounced around on the regular.  He's probably not worth the trouble.  He's admittedly bi-polar and has had a bad attitude since St. Joes...not mad at the Lakers for saying the nay-no to D-West.

K-Mart is a different story...I think he could help this team.  Just don't think K-Mart was seriously considering the Lakers.  People also forget that agents and players use the Lakers name to negotiate better deals with other teams.

If the Lakers had traded Dwight to the Rockets and received a TPE, we would have been in a MUCH better position to upgrade immediately in the Free Agent market this year.  I seriously doubt they wanted to do that.  It would have also made negotiating 1yr deals a LOT harder if we had the ability to pay much more.

So alot of the things that were done or not done were by design, preparing for next year.

Really? Even after hearing this?

I was basing that on what they were looking for.  Daye seems to fit.  Still would be surprised if he isn't signed, as he's probably one of the best available 3/4, is from Cali and is willing to take the vet min.

Okay, but now you went from shocked to surprised just to clarify. Lessened your assurance.
