Oh boy oh boy oh boy.
Derek Fisher is back. Again.
According to a league source close to the situation, the Thunder are re-signing guard Derek Fisher to a one-year deal. His contract is expected to be at the veteran minimum.
For Fisher, this will be his third stint in Oklahoma City. Both times he signed midway through the season. Last year, he played 20 regular season games with the Thunder.
You may be asking yourself how this impacts the Thunder’s free agency plans, specifically with Mike Miller. A person close to the team says Fisher has been committed to the Thunder for almost a month now, meaning that they’ve been negotiating with Miller with the expectation Fisher is already on the roster. Fisher’s addition places the team at the 15-man limit, meaning if Miller signs, OKC will have to waive someone.
Fisher, 38, averaged 4.1 points in 14.4 minutes last season with the Thunder.
