This is the 2nd time around they've done this to him as said -_-  It's terrible really.  Sounds like they scooped him up to make sure he didn't go to a rival team.

Kelly got 30/8/7 again, he's on pace to get a few triple doubles and looks like a pure shooter but with a  basketball IQ.

I would expect the Spurs to let him go before it becomes official, or his temp contract ends.   They'll likely try to scoop him up for their d-league team.

Mark Cuban did the same thing to CDR when we were gonna send him down to the D-Fenders two years ago.   Signed him, barely used him, sent him to their d-league team.

Malcolm Thomas just got waived by the Spurs. So he'll go back to the D-Fenders. Sign him up if Manny doesn't get signed for another 10 day?

Not this year and here's why:

1. Adds to the payroll and furthers hurts the Lakers chances of getting under the tax if they choose to do so.

2. D League stats should be taken with a huge grain of salt...3rd team and still can't stick? 2nd time cut by a team that is great at developing guys

3. What does he bring to change the course of this team?  He isn't going to fill some huge need so why waste money on a player that will be sitting behind 2 other PF thats need minutes on this team.

He'd be a nice option for a camp invite next year though

In a heartbeat the Lakers should.   Though with Kelly's emergence and Hill getting playtime as the backup 5 and Kaman being the odd-man out I don't see where Thomas would get time.   If they pick him up I'd assume that Kaman or such is gonna be moved at the deadline.

This.  Signing him to ride the pine and eating up tax money is pointless

don't know the hype for thomas. he couldn't cut it with the spurs one of the best scouting teams in the league. what makes you think he'll do anything here?

Who would he play in front of on the Spurs at the 4/5 position?

The one time Popovich gave him time he got 2 points but 9 rebounds.

Thomas has always been a tenacious rebounder so that was not surprising, and he got those 9 rebounds and 2 blocks in 14 minutes.

The question is who he plays in front of for the Spurs.  Splitter, Duncan, Diaw?  A  team that needs defense inside and tenacious rebounder could use him.  He'd do well even here, or in Indiana or on Chicago if they weren't cheap, or the Warriors actually who need something inside.

Sorry Manny Harris, but Lakers should get Malcolm Thomas. For the reason Majesty stated and Tkainzero. He shown the ability to contribute on grabbing boards, that's enough for me. Thomas improve his range and can knock down that 3 ball. We once wanted Dante Cunningham, well Malcolm is younger, cheaper, and does the same thing. Kaman as good as gone, so we need to secure Thomas, before other teams get him again.
