Warner Bros. is about to bring together two of its most iconic heroes: Superman and Batman will unite in a new film, the follow-up to “Man of Steel,” set for release in 2015.

According to two sources with knowledge of the movie, Warner Bros. intends to announce the news at its Comic-Con International panel Saturday morning. Said a Warner Bros. spokesperson, “We don’t comment on rumors regarding these properties.”

“Man of Steel” director Zack Snyder is expected to reunite with screenwriter David S. Goyer and star Henry Cavill for the new film. It’s unlikely Christian Bale will step back into the bat suit, as the actor has indicated publicly that he has moved on from his days as Bruce Wayne.

Imo this movie lives with Bale as the Bat and dies w/o him as the Bat.

Seriousy, I can't picture anyone else as Batman and if it isn't Bale it'll already be a disappointment for me.

That and simply of course, make him an offer he can't refuse. Whatever it takes. Put up banners & billboards of him everywhere ala Dwight if need be.

Christian Bale is a very egotistical actor from what I understand and is difficult to work with.  I wonder if he would even consider working a movie where he would have to be a co-star in this type of movie.

Christian Bale loves his craft and with the right amount of money I don't think it would be hard for him to come on board.

Fans should really put pressure on em' & demand Bale. Don't let them be cheap. Overpay if you have to. Do whatever you can to get him at all costs. No excuses. When there's a will, there's a way. Accomodate him however need be. Meet all his requests. Be his [expletive]. Anything less will be a failure. This is too epic potentially to go to waste. Don't drop the ball.

I can only see one person who can replace Bale. It's John Hamm. His character as Don Draper has Bruce Wayne written all over it. The dark, enigmatic, eerie aura surrounding that character is just perfect

^ I thought he was much older than Bale, but yet he's only three years older at 42. I like Hamm, especially after the job he did on Dwight, but how the heck would they get his notorious anaconda to fit into that incredibly tight suit?

It really would be the Dark Knight Rises.

kinda early tho, i mean they should make at least two more sequels for man of steel and then come out with a movie with the two. This is an obvious cash grab

That's not true at all. He's done tons of movies with big stars. He's doing one right now with Bradley cooper and Jennifer Lawrence

RDJ is the only iron man because he's literally the only iron man ever to play the part

So he's associated with the part and the part is associated with him

Batman has been played by many people. Bale is just the best to do it.

Iron man is more like Indiana jones. Because he's the first and did it so well you can't picture anyone else doing it

Batman is more like James bond. And while Craig and bale are the best to do it another will put on the suit and have their crack at it
