Portland struck out on getting Noah, griffin, love, and horford. Aldridge is demanding a trade a pau gasol that can be a veteran leader and fill it up for Portland. Add in some draft picks Portland might just do it bring back an expiring contract. I know it won't happen but let's day it does.

Would you be happy with Aldridge as one of r pickupa a all star player top 2 at his position but this move might kill the get Lebron and melo movement.

Lets say we stretch Nash all we have is Aldridge at 13.2 a year on the books.

Sign melo for the max 20 mill I think.
Sign Kobe for 10

Brandon Jennings plays out the year then signs with us a little less then what he wanted 9 million dollar deal too come home and win a title. The kid hasn't got his chance to play for a team that his teammates r worthy of getting the ball. He has speed he can only get better. And he can fill it up.

That puts us at about 51-52 salary cap next year is 62 mill

Resign young with the option we have for vets minimum.
Resign farmar for vets minimum
Sign kaman too 3 million dollar a year tell him he will start on a title team sell la.
Sign ring hungry vet at sf or Wes Johnson
Lamar odom 1 million dollar deal 2 years

Pg jennings/ farmar/
Sg Kobe/ young
Sf melo/ Wes Johnson vet minimum
Pf Aldridge/ Odom/ Kelly
Center kaman/ sacre

Obviously if we could get players to take less or not sign jennings this would work out better. If we could get rondo Aldridge Kobe I'm all in.

This team has all sorts of scoring but we need one coach to put it all together Kurt Rambis! With Phil Jackson taken a seat at the table with Jim and Mitch.

But long story short would you take Aldridge and eat into r 2014 salary.

With these team you have a young pg tht can play pg or sg that can atleast keep up defensively with the elite pg. the zen master and Rambis will teach him how to pass.

A top 5 player in melo a aging top 10 player in Kobe. Melo has a bad rap but he has never had stars to play with or the zen master and Rambis giving him advice plus he's dying to win a title. A top two pf in Aldridge that can do it all. We can Even slide melo too the 4 Aldridge to the 5. Plus kaman a team player big body that loves la.

Obviously this is not my first choice I'm a melo and Jennings apologist. But if Kobe Jennings Aldridge and melo r taking most of my shots I'm happy.

I know it's wacky but just think of the original question.

Fill in rest of the spots with guys like josh selby and summer league guys or players tht will sign cheap.

Alternate lineup
Farmar
Jennings
Kobe
Melo
Aldridge

Maybe replace jennings with a more traditional pg

Maybe Kobe plays facilitator but if Westbrook harden and durant could share the ball and get too the finals so can we.

And if anyone can make this work its Phil playing puppet master with Rambis or Phil just coaching for a year.

Hey if Lebron signs with melo and Kobe these guys will have to share the ball too.

Superstars figure it out defensively we will be alright we will put up 120 a game so teams will have to our score us

LAKERS SHOULD NOT SIGN ANYBODY THAT WILL RUINED THE CAP SPACE FOR SUMMER OF 2014!! PERIOD END OF STORY. HAVE A NICE DAY!

MDA is an offensive genius. I hope he sticks to his guns and keeps doing what he does best: Run and Gun. That's the only way to coach.

Well if we can get LA for anyone other than kobe you do it but doubt portland would ever do it. No one wants Pau. At least not right now. Maybe near the trade deadline when teams would want cap space and they know the season is over but I think we would most likely just go into the FA with cap space unless a trade was really good.

lol if they can get a All star player you do. Its not like we are guaranteed anything in the 2014 FA.

Yeah, I'd rather just secure the cap space and let Gasol playout this year cause I'm sure he'll sign for cheap next year.  Also despite how great Lamarcus Aldridge is his career has been impacted greatly due to several injuries so he's questionable.

And the Blazers would easily laugh in our faces and flip the bird on us.

Just never bought into him.  Pretty good statline but he's like Boozer all over again.  Nice box score but when you watch games you realize something is missing...

Why would Portland trade a still rising All Star caliber player to a hated rival?

I would love to have LA here. I would feel hesitant to let such a move interfere with our 2014 cap space, but nothing is guaranteed that summer.

Look at Dallas. They have had cap space the past 2 years and have nothing to show for it. Of course, Los Angeles is different from Dallas, but who knows.

^^^^ because Aldridge is demanding a trade and at a certain point Portland will move on if we can give pau especially if his numbers get inflated before the trade deadline and a bunch of picks

Portland will do it they have showed interest in pau in the past pau has atleast 2 years of double double solid play ahead of him he's a champion vet that Portland needs. Portland has been shopping Aldridge you don't want a unhappy superstar especially with young stars on your team.

^^^^*
I love how ppl act like we will get melo or Lebron what if we don't what's your plan?

^^^
Plenty of teams want pau thts crazy too say they don't Cleveland offered a trade exception and verajo hawks and Houston were interested very recently Denver is interested now. You don't get a 7 footer with his skills often. That will appreciate a team resigning him and sign cheaper. Wolves haven't even resigned pek you know why there looking at trading for pau.

^^^^^
You think pau and Kobe will sign cheap pau has been disrespected he wants billboards and he will be on first bus to Minnesota when he is a free agent.
^^^^^
You compare Aldridge a top two Pf too boozer thts a joke

^^^^^
Jennings is not max but he is worth 9 to 12 mill thts avg salary for above average pg not on their rookie deal. Aldridge would make 13 mill next two seasons not a Max deal

And for the guy tht doesn't want melo at max money that's a joke. The guy has never had a great team. Kobe b said melo was the best shooter on the Olympic team. The guy can score at will and play two important positions. Just like Jennings if I was melo I wouldn't pass too those bums either on the Olympic team melo passed. As a knick laker fan tht watches every game melo replace Howard with melo take Dan tonie out. Lakers would atleast went to the western finals.

Again, you don't seemto understand that Portland HATES the Lakers and would do absolutely nothing to help them out - ever.
