@JimNelsonFOX

No sleep yet for me, but again...a reliable source tells me the @MiamiHEAT will use the amnesty clause on Mike Miller. #NBA.

BREAKING NEWS: The @MiamiHEAT will use the amnesty clause and let guard Mike Miller go, per a reliable source. Should be official by 5p #NBA

I can see the Heat shipping out Allen, Anthony, and Lewis to clear room for a 2015 run at a defensive big.

Initial reaction by Lakers to Mike Miller getting cut: Meh. They feel they already have enough SFs (Young, Wesley Johnson, Kobe).

I would take a look at Miller, he's a solid shooter although he's injury prone that's the only downside.

No.

Miller played 17 playoff games...and had maybe 2-3 decent ones.  The rest were horrible.  He took advantage of the Spurs deciding to shut LeBron off at the rim, and not take him seriously...but that was his collection of good games.  He did nothing against the other three teams Miami played against, and throughout the regular season, he gave Miami a three and maybe a long two every night, with atrocious defense and pathetic limping after every significant shot.

People remember Mike Miller when he has a good game (like his 5-5 3PT shooting vs. Spurs that led to his 15 points, only double-digit scoring game he had in the playoffs), and it makes sense because he stands out as being an irrelevant player.  Suddenly, Mike Miller is THE GUY you want in the playoffs...for one or two games?  Okay.

He would take minutes away from players that deserve them (ex. anyone).  And, I can't stand his face.  He can retire.

Behind on TL, so Miller is officially amnestied. Worth a look, Knicks fans? My thinking is he ends up in LA (D'Antoni) or Minnesota (Flip).

To be fair to Mike Miller, that Miami team was so stacked it was hard for him to get playing time. It wasn't always fair, but that's what happens when you're that deep.

He didn't get significant playing time until later in the season when they had things pretty much wrapped up and he played very well actually in that brief time when he got his chance.

In the playoffs, since they already basically had their set rotation, he also wasn't initially much a part of that so he didn't see significant playing time until late in the Indiana series where Spoelstra finally decided to use him desperately looking for a spark and it worked. Since then, little by little he started playing more than Battier for a while.

He would easily be our best 3pt shooter outside of Nash. Guy has crazy range. You just can't leave him open more times than not it seems. For vets min why the heck not?

mike miller was a really good player, not to long ago...

I seem to remember the Wizards and T-Wolves making a trade with him...

Minnesota Timberwolves[edit]

On June 26, 2008, Miller, Brian Cardinal, Jason Collins, and the 5th pick of the 2008 NBA Draft, Kevin Love, were sent to Minnesota in exchange for Marko Jaric, Antoine Walker, Greg Buckner and the 3rd pick O. J. Mayo.[8]

Washington Wizards[edit]

On June 23, 2009, Miller and Randy Foye were sent to the Washington Wizards for Oleksiy Pecherov, Etan Thomas, Darius Songaila and a first round draft pick.[9] Miller suffered a shoulder injury and missed a few games during the early part of the 2009–10 NBA season.

wow...

Memphis messed that one up... they gave up Love and Miller for mayo

pause here for a laugh about the NBAS first Gay player being involved in a trade with Love Mayo...

Next, the Wizards traded a bunch of no-bodies, AND A FIRST ROUND PICK, for Miller

that 1st round pick ended up being number 5, giving the T-wolves number 5 and 6 in a good draft...

Now... of course, the GM just threw away a pick on Johnny Flynn...

But they could have had Curry.Rubio...

mike miller has really transformed the NBA
