Boston wanted to pair Dwight with garnett to make one more run I think ainge thought he could convince Dwight to stay or include him in a trade like the Brooklyn trade.

Lakers would of took an injured rondo but this guy is a freak of nature. He has the rare edge and work ethic Kobe has. He doesn't need the ball the whole game the guy played with Paul pierce and plenty of shoot first guys him and Kobe would of meshed together great. Plus everybody talks about Dwight's defense I wasn't that impressed but you can find alot of big bodies that defend.

These days you need good perimeter defenders.
Rondo would of made a bigger difference defensively then Dwight. Plus it would of opened a Nash trade.

Because all I heard was this:

@GwashNBAGlobe
Danny Ainge said he made courtesy call to Dwight Howard's reps to see interest in coming to #celtics through s & t. Answer was no

Even it was true it was the right decision. Rondo as good as he is, has issues of his own and he has weaknesses in his game too (cant shoot free throws or make J's consistently).  Hes the wrong guy to be stuck with during a rebuilding year

Doesn't matter, because Howard didn't want to go to Boston.  In S&T scenarios, Howard makes the final decision.  We can't just S&T a free agent without his consent, because once he became one, we lost our rights to him.

If he was interested in Boston, he would have had an interview with Ainge.  He chose Houston, Dallas, Atlanta, Golden State, and us.

Yea I'm pretty sure dwight as dead set on Houston. S&T with them was very unlikely.

Stupid thread, as almost anyone here said, you can't S&T a free agent
