To be honest, Goudelock wasn't ready in training camp or in practice.

It was his time in the D-league when he went to his 2nd team that focused on training him exclusively as a combo guard so that he could play two positions effectively.  His time there made him 10 times the player he was when he went down there.

Prior to that D-league stint I'd have taken Meeks over him,
After that D-league stint where he became 10 times the player he was and won D-league MVP, I'd take that guy over Meeks in a heartbeat.

Like I said the moment he signed on with their summer league team, I expect him to make the roster in spades :)

If he doesn't it's their loss.  And a huge one!

Meanwhile Jodie can't create a shot Meeks just chillin' comfortably.

While that's true, we can be honest though and state that Jodie probably scores 50 in the summer league environment.

What Goudelock trumps him in is exactly what you said, the ability to get his own shot.

dude...

joide meeks wouldn't even get a shot in the summer league...

no one ever passes, and dude cannot create a shot, or finnish at the rim...

meeks is a better NBA player then a baller, and he isn't a good NBA player

but to be 100% honest..

dude DID play in the summer league.. and averaged a respectable 19ppg

yes his rookie year he averaged 19 points on 55.7% shooting in the summer league.

I think if he was in the summer league NOW he'd probably average 30.

But it's his kind of environment he can flourish in, same can be said of Goudelock, but he shows the ability to score at a much more efficient rate than Jodie and is less one dimensional.   Would love to trade Meeks for picks and sign Goudelock but I think he makes the Bulls.  Almost 100% sure he will and take Nate's place.

Relax - it's the Summer League.

I would hope a guy who played at the NBA level could score well in one game against a bunch of guys who mostly have never gotten past the tryout phase of their careers.

You guys are way too hyped on d-league and summer league performances. Here's a list of all the d-league mvps:

Ansu Sesay
Devin Brown
Tierre Brown
Matt Carrol
Marcus Fizer
Randy Livingston
Kasib Powell
Courtney Sims
Mike Harris
Curtis Stinson
Justin Dentmon

How many of those guys do you want on your team? How many of those guys have you ever even heard of?

I'm not saying Glock can never be a serviceable role player, because guys DO occasionally make it, I'm just saying the odds of someone making it out of the d-league and giving a team significant production are slim.

yea...

But SUMMER LEAGUE MVPS, which this is, have turned out well...

Lets see..

rookie of the year, Damian Lillard was the co-mvp of the summer league last year...

Damian Lillard was the 6th pick of the draft, of course he turned out well lmao. Drew was the 16th pick of the second round, there's just a tiny difference between the two.

Liked him, but he has NO defensive impact, wheras Meeks at least hustles.

Plus Nick young replaced him, not Meeks

Wesley johnson is our new Morris,Nick Young is our new Goudelock and Farmar is our new Duhon..

I honestly wouldn't mind Kobe missing the first month now because , you want Wesley,Nick and Meeks to ALL get good minutes, and grow some early confidence, and really force Kobe to take his time, because I think our bigs(especially if we add Odom or Gooden or k-Mart) is good enough to keep us as a solid team and if Nash and Blake perform, we can a 8-5 type team in our first month of action, even if it's 8-9 early, i think the West is going to beat up on each other all year long, and only 2-3 teams who will be pacing themselves.

Anywy, I'm ready for October to be here, s o we can start seeing where Kobe is, and then pre season

He choked in the last Summer League game and his team got eliminated.

Shot 2-14 with 5 points
