Arent they both spot up shooter? Or can Nick Young drive his way to the basket and create his own shot more or better than Jodie Meeks?

Young, no question.

He can create his own shot.  Once Kobe returns Meeks minutes will probably drop to single digits.

Young is more athletic and can create for himself.

Meeks is the better 3 point shooter, but Young's quickness on his first step gives him a midrange advantage, plus he's taller.

They're both trash on defense.

Young is the better player.

he can be a headcase

dude can play himself into a 6-8 million a year contract easy this year. he will have the mins and opportunity

meeks...
well... meeks can shoot the stand still shot.. he is undersized at the 2... he cannot get his own

apples and oranges. young is a more talented player and has more potential on account of his size and athleticism. i think meeks plays with more heart but its tough for a guy his size without crazy athleticism pg/combo skills. ny can be a black hole though and has learning to do.

young can get his own shots which isnt something meeks has shown much of. ny can be good defensively on iso's and challenging shots while meeks is the opposite due to size.

its hard to put a value on jodies maturity and heart but its not a fair comparison. with that said your only as good as what you have done for me lately
Abdul-Jabbar told the San Francisco Chronicle last month he met Howard only once and that Howard expressed an interest in learning from the former Lakers captain but he never again reached out to Abdul-Jabbar.

‘He’s charming, he’s charismatic, very nice young man,’ Abdul-Jabbar said. ‘Maturity-wise, he doesn’t get it.’

Here's some more Nick Young highlights for you

I think he wins X_X

I also love how he once said "who wouldn't want to play for the clippers"

That would be YOU :) Because you left them for more money in Philly, but you walked away from more money to play for the Lakers for 1.2 million

Sterling: Play for the Clippers for 4 million

Nick Young: HECK NO!!

Mitch: Play for the Lakers for 1.2 million

Nick Young: YES SIR!! Where can I get my hat!?

Nice to see we still have that effect ;)

Meeks is a good roleplayer, nothing more, nothing less. Few mistakes, shoots pretty well and with good intensity on defense.

Nick Young is an awesome scorer but that's about it and it's been his problem his whole career. He would have a lot more value if he turned into more of a roleplayer - probably as a scoring punch off the bench, like Jamal Craford, or better yet be a defense-and-3s guy with the ability to create.

If he improved his shot-selection, focused on defense and rebounding and only went in scoring-mode when necessary, he could have a really long career with the Lakers.

Generally, if we add another wing who is a lock-down defender (like Ronnie Brewer) i think we're looking pretty good.

Even though they're both horrible defenders, Young is far more versatile offensively, so Young >> Meeks. With Meeks you live and die by the 3-pointer, Young can do pretty much anything when he has the ball in his hands.

Nick Young is practically a poor man's J.R Smith.  Although JR is probably a bit of a better finisher both Young and Smith have a similar style of play and great shot releases.

Young can penetrate, shoot, and create his own shot.

Meeks can only spot up, and even last year was inconsistent with that.
