EA is the only one to announce it but it's my understanding from a couple friends in the video game company that all games will have a price increase on next gen.  But we'll see, wouldn't surprise me.

In the past, EA Games was the first to jump from 50$ to 60$ on their madden game... offering a special edition for 10$ more...

then, next year, it was just a 60$ version..
then more and more companies upped their price...

Now all new games cost 60$
and then have DLC on the first day that you need to buy for 10$ more

SCREW EA GAMES!!!
game developers are shooting themselves in the foot...
we are certainly entering a dark age of gaming

EA is just out for the money, cant blame them their called a company for a reason.

Price hikes on the games should be expected with every generation games go up. Games might shoot up to 65 anything higher would seem to high to me. With tax games are already 65 bucks

which is why PC gaming has become a better platform. Cheaper, yet more potential.

Very true. It's still a matter of preference. I'd probably buy both consoles, only for their exclusive games, but everything else.. I'd play it on PC. The advantage of PC gaming is being able to play with mods, which can increase the value of a game by tenfolds.

Good point, that is one thing I always hate losing out on is the mods. They can add a lot to a game.

Other than the Call of Duty series I buy all my sports games (Madden, NBA 2K and Tiger Woods) a year late. It sucks the first year but after that it's pretty nice paying $15 for them instead of $60 or now $70.

I am priced out of the next gen consoles already and with games becoming more expensive as well, the gaming industry is going to wind up shooting themselves in the foot and encouraging illegal means of obtaining games.

Seems they're going down the same path the music and movie industry have already stumbled their way down.  And I'm sure once their profits are impacted by their price bloating, they'll complain about illegal games as adamantly as those other entertainment industries that wonder why people are drifting further and further away from them.

Unprecedented profit has created a large canyon of devoid of common sense in the gaming industry.  It will shoot them in the foot sooner rather than later.

A bit ridiculous. I hope I can buy these launch games on my console. I hate going to gamestop. I don't need box art and all that junk. While their at it sell me the multiplayer separate from the campaign. CoD I never play the campaign. Sell multiplayers with all the DLC and call it a day.

That is not stupid at all. You guys know anything about business? Remember back in the days when video games cost about 20 bucks brand new? Yea its not going to happen ever again. Why was it so cheap you asked? Well the graphics back then sucks and it doesnt cost much to make a game. The more technology putting into a system and video games, the higher the price will be.  The profits for video games doesn't go soley to the publisher or developers. It goes into hundreds of people making the game like artist, charactor actors, developers etc.  You know how much it cost to make a game? It cost thousands even millions of dollars to make one game. With the new system being more powerful, it will cost more to make games. Why? Because people who complain how high the price of games becoming are the same people who complains about the graphics and realism of a game.  The more the game looks amazing and real, the more expansive it is to make.

so stop [expletive]ing and crying about the high price of games. It is expected. We are spoiled with great technology and we need to learn to live with the high price that comes with it.   If you guys dont like it, go bust out your old system like the NES or something cus it only take like 100 bucks or so to make that masterpiece back in the days.

MDA is an offensive genius. I hope he sticks to his guns and keeps doing what he does best: Run and Gun. That's the only way to coach.

I agree. Im more of a console guy. And I rarely play online.  For one I only have a laptop and I only use my laptop for internet surfiing, porn or work. I aint into the world or war craft kind of a games where I need to go online and talk smack to a 12 year old kid who probably online for 24 hour straight and destroys everybody.. I'm a 32 year old grown ass man who do have somewhat of a life.  Though I have to admit PC do make amazing graphics. Probably better than consoles. But who knows. Then new system probably equals or even better.
