Hey all,

I was up late doing some crazy math and realized that if Kobe was willing to take $10.5 mil in 2014 – then what he really SHOULD do is take the min in 2014 and then the max of ~$19.5 in 2015 – a complete game-changer for the Lakers:

Great read.

I'm really optimistic about this teams future despite the Howard ordeal.  Things are looking up.

Balancing the books on the backs of players would be playing into the Owners hands…… The Players have already given back millions in salaries in the form of the new CBA.  I don't believe the new CBA even allows for a team like the LAKERS to spread out a Final contract like Kobe's over a period of time….aka Magic's last contract. I understand Kobe's attitude. Owners can't have their cake and eat it too……well yeah they can, but there is no need for a player to unravel a negotiated contract to pay for someone elses. If so then what?…..The acquired player or players will have to minimize their contracts in a few years to make room for another. Where would it end?
