Eventually Memphis will suck again... We'll have the Gasol brothers, with Kobe, Nash, john Wall and Batum

Are you serious? Both are 22 and ridiculous potential. If you want To rebuild you can't do better. We could sign both and still offer someone like an athletic wing a very good deal.

Wall/Kobe/SF/Pau/Cousins. Yeah that could win a title.

You do need a big, but unlike previous era's this isn't such a demanding position anymore. Basically as long as you try to play defense and get some boards, you're considered top 5 in the NBA.

But likewise this certainly isn't a PG league either like the media says, whens the last time a PG led a team to the Finals, let alone win a championship? (hint: he played for us in the 80's) It definitely makes a huge difference if you have a good quick passer that is athletic and 'attempts' to play defense. The last teams to have won are Lakers, Heat, Maverick and Celtics. All around teams solid at most spots, with at least that primary scorer and emphasis on defense, and a solid coach. None had a dominant PG or Center.

Yeah your right! Dont listen to these clowns who dont know basketball. They are the same ones who wanted old beat down steve nash who cant compete with any elite young talent. Kobe bears all the defensive responsibility at this age thats not good. Wall gives you the option of switching when there are screens and is actually a point guard (westbrook). Bigger and faster than Rose and has unlimited potential. A clown would only look at the team he was stuck with and assume it is who the player is when the player doesnt pick the team

Last time a PG lead a team to the finals was actually Jason Kidd.

To be fair, bashing Nash as an old PG who can't guard anyone applied to Fisher even then when we went back to back.

Right but they had low post presence and play making decision making from two positions. It doesnt matter where on the court it comes from. You have to have post presence, decision making and spacing. Lebron is two of the three but I'd rather have a TEAM than individual as Kobe had going to three straight finals 2 times

Yeah but Fisher always played defense and has actually been to the finals. No Sun player or coach has SINCE .......

True and I guess you can apply that to Iverson, kind of.

I would have liked that SF to have been iguodala but thats out of sight! If Phil had this team right here, Kobe would win two more before riding into the sunset. The throne that Jordan left to Kobe is still his because his Air lol hasnt come yet

The Lakers don't need a dominant center to be a championship team. The Bulls for example didn't have that. What they do need is defense in the paint and rebounding, but that can be addressed in the future.

Getting two guys like Wall and Cousins would be the smartest idea for the future. Sure having Melo would be great but only for 3-4 years, and then we would be stuck in the same position as we are now with an ageing superstar. A duo of Wall and Cousins could be our core for the next 8-10 years if they stay healthy and if Cousins doesn't turn into a psychopath.
