Looking at the current situation the lakers find itself in,  I think it if time  for us to push the reset button.

I believe the best we can do if we get a health Kobe Bryant back before Christmas is get to the second round. I believe with Steve Nash playing his natural role and Pau being the main Center in a pick and roll with Nash with Kobe as the decoy we can get to the second round if we go all out.

But i believe the best thing to do is take our foot off the paddle and rest Kobe for this year we should not tagert the playoffs.

We should get into the lottery for next year. If we are lucky to get into the first three stops in the lottery, this is what i think we should do.

  1. Get Andre Wiggins or Jabari Parker if we get the 1st or the 2nd pick.
  2. Try to get Either John Wall or Kyrie Irving. I know they are both team options and it will be hard to prey them away from thier teams. But we can try.
  3. Get DeMarcus Cousins with the highest bid.

This will give us a solid team of both youngsters and veteran players for the 2014-2015 season and beyond.

1.John Wall/Kyrie Irving

2.Kobe Bryant

3.Andre Wiggins/Jabari Parker

4.Pau Gasol

5.DeMarcus Cousins

This will be more difficult to form than our second option.

  1. Get Marcus Smart if we get  3rd, 4th or 5th pick
  2. Try and sign Camelo Anthony with our cap space.
  3. Get DeMarcus Cousins with the highest bid.

This will still give us a very strong team.

1. Marcus Smart

2. Kobe Bryant

3. Camelo Anthony

4. Pau Gasol

5. DeMarcus Cousins

Any of this two teams will be a dynasty for atleast 5years.  We will need a good coach who can ensure that all these stars get their touches.

I believe this is a very feasible plan. Even if we loose out on all the three draft picks above we still have a better chance of picking someone like Julius Randle. 2014 is a very good draft year and we should take advantage of that to rebuild together with our cap space.

I gave about 3 different possibilities and concluded that next year is a good draft year and we should gave ourselves a better chance of getting one of the best picks. You should read it all.

The chances of this happening are slim. Even if we are a lottery team, the chances of getting in the top 5 not in our favor.

Lol you said get Demarcus cousins? He said he hates the lakers, and how the hell can we get kyrie if he's on a two year team option with Cleveland and John wall is restricted.

I do not understand why some of you are so high on Cousins.

The guy's attitude is horrible and hasn't improved since his high school days.  He is talented no doubt, but when you're mentally unstable, it's pretty tough to put those skills on display.

Where the hell would this money come from. And I swear I better not hear "they will take pay-cuts".

Also I like how you call it a solid team. That would be a freaking dream team you put together on nba 2k or something.

These lineups are unrealistic even in this superteam era.

Don't worry, we signing Melo and Lebron. My multiple sauces indicated that "it's possible."

Mike D'Antoni is GARBAGE.

Bill Simmons was making fun of us with this article.

But him concluding that is what the Celtics are trying to do tells me that it is not a bad plan at all.

The NBA lottery is built to make tanking a smart move. Finishing in the middle just let's a mediocre team become even more mediocre.

If people can put their pride away for a second, they'd probably come to the conclusion that getting a top pick is better than finishing in the middle and possibly missing the lottery and missing out on possible superstar caliber talent. And he is totally right. If getting an 8 seed is probably the best we're going to do, why not just go for broke and try to get one of the best talents to come around since guys like Durant and LBJ?
